Description



The Cyclone Class Fast Anti Air Frigate is a small modular escort frigate designed to be fast and maneuverable. Though it is has other functions such as SAR, anti-ship and reconnaissance, it's primary role is to shoot down incoming missiles to protect aircraft carriers and other large flagships. It can boast about 50 missiles total and 1 5-inch gun(battle cannon). It has no machine guns as it's primarily an anti missile frigate despite it's classification name as "anti air frigate" which it's more about intercepting missiles than aircraft. Not only that, it is also quite stable even in huge waves and strong winds as that is the requirement for patrolling all around the oceans in the world. It is able to stay stable by having gyros, fins, and an active counterweight.

As an anti air(specifically missiles) frigate, it is meant to shoot down missiles from medium range instead of close range as missiles are quite hard to intercept once they get too close. And unlike it's ground interceptor cousin, it's medium range surface to air missiles can multi target. Not only that, it has 2 modes of radars as well: TWS and Hard lock. Despite the radar modes, Hard Lock has the longer range(20KM vs 13.3KM for TWS Mode). Although it can also shoot down aircraft but not as much effective as it's ground and air platform counterparts. However it has other targeting modes such as laser targeting pod, firing control pod, datalink and radio. The frigate has 2 datalinks as well though the other datalink is for identifying older vehicles while the main one is it's primary datalink and IFF.

However besides being a missile frigate, it also sports ECM which disrupts radio signals, it searches radio frequencies and helps stop radio such as radio guided missiles. It sports an electric turbine which means it doesn't use any fuel but batteries which it can easily replenish making it's range infinite. However, because of it's many capabilities, it is very expensive as much as more than a million dollars in game.

(Update) The Cyclone now features more detailed interiors, a complete HVAC system(for most rooms), more water-redundant pipes, and extra repair equipment(in the MC room).

This cannon isn't really exactly needed if it weren't for some modern day piracy.

Now this is the main weapon of the frigate used to shoot down missiles(OFC since this is derivative of the AMRSKL, you could always rip the regular version out and put it on the frigate if you wish to make it intercept fixed wing aircraft instead)

10x CapMod CIWS Missile
This is a CIWS, it's not equipped with a traditional autocannon but it is similar to the SeaRam.

x8 RGM-84 Harpoons
This is for self defense against ships. You have enough range to shoot it as far as the MRSAM does.
2x AS3 Scout Missile
This is equipped on the drone. It is for self defense against ground targets and small surface ships rather than attacking the enemy fleet.

I'd like to add more rooms but a VLS tube is blocking the way to fill the empty space infront and besides, its getting too laggy and harder to detail more rooms

but i'd like more crew spaces to fill those areas (and possibily connect the anchor room inside the ship so that you don't have to go out in bad weather), it just feels way to empty now.

maybe perhaps try selecting the target first before holding the 4 key button, also make sure its on TWS mode

i have seen the vid on multi track but i hold down the 4 key and select targets but it dont work
