Operation: STEEL SENTINEL - Phase 1

Description
Three weeks ago the Olvana Peoples Navy (OPN) seized the island of Panay after landing a marine brigade in Mischief Reef. The United Nations Security Council has passed resolution 8868 condemning Olvanan aggression and calling for a withdrawal of forces from Belesian territory.

As a condition of the passing of the resolution, the United States may not participate in the International Belesian Security Assistance Force (IBSAF), which is instead lead by Australia.

Your Orders: Enforce UNSCR 8873 and re-establish Belesian sovereignty in Panay and Palawan by deploying CJTF to the JFAO to prosecute Multi-Domain Operations against Olvanan elements in Belesian sovereign territory. Coordinate efforts to enforce USCR 8873 to evince the removal of Olvanan forces from Belesian sovereign territory, the estabishment of a safe and secure environment in the occupied Belesian territories, and conditions set for the UN supervised transition of authority in Panay back to the Belesian civilian government.

@TheLost
Thanks for that. This scenario is based on a real-world ADF staff exercise (https://date.army.gov.au/sites/default/files/2025-01/CJTF%20667%20OPORD%2001%20Operation%20Steel%20Sentinel%20V3.pdf) and that exercise gives P-3's to NZ. Will fix in the next go.

if i may make a point of correction, the RNZAF would have p-8 poseidon not P-3ks, the last p-8 was delivered the month of the mission with the orions being withdrawn in a 1 in 1 out basis before then. so the time this mission takes place the final orion would have already been withdrawn from service

@Quitoxic OK, thx :)

@FlyBoy if you're trying to use the chinooks you won't have any luck, the Japanese amphibians don't have any ground units aboard them (working on it) only the ANZAC ones do.
@Aurelian haha no. Why do you ask?

Thx @Quitoxic
I tried lifting troops in one of the Chinooks, and drop them on a nearby island. They were "loaded" via the Ready/Arm function, as I couldn't see the in the Cargo function. So just Ready/Arm, and nothing happended when I chose Unload Cargo in the Units menu????

@FlyBoy

Glad you're enjoying it!
I'm currently working on a followon scenario for this to demonstrate the actual JFEO onto Panay, a paucity of sources on the composition of the Japanese marines has made this somewhat difficult. There are light infantry, mechanized, and armor units embarked on HMAS Canberra, HMAS Adelaide, and HMNZS Canterbury that should be able to utilize their helos and landing craft to make the landing. However the enemy forces on Panay right now are kept slim to reduce the AU count and improve performance, it's only heavy equipment and "battalion" custom units that're only meant to be a target for bombardment. There are no units to be embarked at the airbases so don't worry about that. Are you unable to deploy the light infantry units via the NH90s on the amphibians? If so that sounds like a bug, you should be able to.

Hi,
Thank you for a very nice scenario, I really enjoy it. However, I have run into as bit of a challenge now. I'm 1 day+ into the fight, and I cannot get my transports (aircraft and helos) to drop my paratroopers. Not in a cargo zone, nor in the open terrain. I don't see any options for loading cargo at the airbases and ships, and consequently just have Ready/Arm my aircrafts in the Aircraft Status option at the airbase/ships. Am I doing anything wrong here, or is it not the intention that the cargo aircraft/helos/paratroopers shall be used in this scenario?

Kind regards :)

@Lord_Ela I'm really glad you enjoyed it! There's more like it on the way

Just wanted to say thank you. It's nice to have a CMO scenario that's fairly large/complex, not US focused, and against a near-peer opponent. I've really enjoyed this one.
