Interstellar Space: Sulak Shipset

The Sulak are a complex and enigmatic species, and it is said that one could spend an entire Human lifetime studying them without gaining any understanding of them at all. A physically resilient species that is known to possess a double skeleton, the Sulak evolved in an acidic environment that would prove fatal to most forms of life, and possess characteristics of both carbon- and silicon-based life. In general, the Sulak are physically gifted, clever, and have a strong procreation drive, but are undisciplined and even somewhat cowardly. These traits inform their entire society, from the family unit all the way to their central government, resulting in an empire that is rigid, expansionist, generally xenophobic, and utterly stunted on an emotional level.

Preferring espionage and subterfuge over direct conflict, it is only the unruly nature of the Sulak themselves that keeps them from being a greater threat than they are. This species is rewarding to observe and study, but make unreliable and unpredictable neighbors. The Sulak may be your ally today, your enemy tomorrow, and completely indifferent to you the day after. Their very nature suggests that the Sulak's greatest obstacle are themselves.
