Description
"NSB Di 3 is a class of 35 diesel–electric locomotives built by NOHAB for the Norwegian State Railways (NSB). The class was built between 1954 and 1969, and delivered in two series, Di 3a and Di 3b. They are based on the Electro-Motive Division F7 and are equipped with EMD 567 engines. " - Wikipedia

This a slight remodel and repaint of the in-game NOHAB to make it into a Norwegian spec Di3 locomotive. The model in-game only represents the super early delivery version. To make it more accurate, I have removed one door on each side and added some details unique to the later Norwegian version of this locomotive. This was a small project to get my brain on something else while working on the BM69's. It includes 10 liveries from throughout the years. The Di3 was a popular workhorse for both cargo and passenger service. They are still loved today by enthusiasts and were the backbone of rail transport north of Trondheim. I hope you'll enjoy it!

These locomotives were an important piece of the transition from steam to diesel. At the time, the Bergen, Dovre and Nordland Line weren't electrified. And a diesel mainline locomotive was needed. After testing the NOHAB locomotives based on the american EMD F7, 35 were ordered and service began in 1957. Soon in the 60's, both the Dovre and Bergen Line was electrified. EL 11 and EL 13 took over mainline operations and the Di3 was moved to the smaller Røros, Valdres and Solør Line. In the 80's the Di4 came along and proved to be superior. It wasn't a complete replacement as NSB wanted newer locomotives. The plan was to retire the Di3 in the mid 1990's, and be replaced by the new Di6 and Di8. However, problems with the Di6 and termination of that order ment the Di3 had to stay in service. They remained in service at NSB until 2001, before being scraped or sold to other operators.

Thank you, was a quick fix! And yes, I've missed norwegian content for years and decided to learn how to make it on my own. When it comes to steam it is not something I've prioritized, nor do I have the skills to animate them properly as of now. My focus is post-1950's

Damn that was quick, awesome! Just want to say I love all your work, as someone who miss the NSB name, your mods are absolutely brilliant :steamhappy:

(would be cool to see some steam locos aswell if thtere's any plans for that)

Anyway, just cool to bring a little bit of home into the game :)

@DavidRanonDKKKKKK MY kan jeg nok lage siden den er nesten identisk til Di3, MX er en del mer ulik så den lager jeg nok ikke dessverre.

@theslodriver Yeah, as far as I know, it's a very similar model to the Norwegian ones, so I would probably make one as a seperate mod.
It is my own currently unreleased scandinavian timber waggons, I have to learn how to make asset versions before I release them.
Yes! No problem, you can reskin it :) I have a paint kit I could share, but I'm currently at sea for the next 2 weeks and do not have access to my home computer.

@ottopeppe Thank you, I am very jealous! I do intend to release them, with TÅGAB, Hectorrail, Green Cargo and most other liveries seen on them. As I wrote earlier in this comment, I have to figure out to make asset versions of them first.

Great work! Are the Ofotbanen Sgns/ExTe Cars also coming in the future? I drive those at work so would be a really fun addition!
