Description
Tactical Charge Weapons
A more realistic redesign of the charge weapons with added tactical abilities.



The initial idea behind this mod was to create more realistic charge weapons with high quality textures. Something that looks functional with real life tactical attachments. A more realistic alternative to Vanilla Expanded charge weapons.

Weapons are balanced around vanilla and vanilla expanded weapons with slight (10-20%) stat increase. Mostly fire rates and reload speeds. They are considered endgame weapons and require Advanced Fabrication to be unlocked along with their own research.

Each weapon also has an unique ability to make the gameplay tactical as well. Abilities can be manually activated. They have different effects, cooldowns, seperate aim&reload times and different ranges depending on the ability.

These abilities open up many situations with new tactical options, giving you control over engagements and make every weapon useful even in endgame.



Tactical Charge Handgun:

Advanced charge handgun with quality internals to improve handling and accuracy. Semi automatic with a reflex sight, giving it a fast fire rate. Perfect for personal defence in tight quarters.

Special Ability: Smoke Shot. Fire a single smoke bullet which explodes on impact and creates a smoke cloud.


Tactical Charge SMG:

Advanced version of the charge SMG with quality internals to improve handling and accuracy. Fires pistol rounds in rapid bursts.

Special Ability: Tox Shot. Fires A burst of tox bullets. They explode in a tiny cloud of Tox Gas, and cause toxic buildup on direct hit.


Tactical Charge Heavy SMG:

Advanced heavy charge SMG. Larger caliber compared to the light SMG providing more damage and stopping power. Shorter controlled bursts provide greater accuracy at medium range.

Special Ability: Concussive shot. Less leathal, small explosive AOE with blunt damage.


Tactical Charge Shotgun:

Advanced version of a charge shotgun. High stopping power but low armor penetration. Fast fireing with solid accuracy up to medium ranges.

Special Ability: Slug Shot. Supercharge the Shotgun shells into a single slug with triple armor penetration and tripple damage.


Tactical Charge Rifle:

Advanced version of the charge rifle. Highly customizable all purpose weapon. Bulpup design with high quality internals, silencer and grip, it also comes with a NV/thermal scope.

Passive Ability: Silencer. +50% stealth when hunting.
Special Ability: Incendiary Burst. Fires a burst of incendiary bullets.


Tactical Charge Heavy Rifle:

Advanced charge heavy rifle. Large caliber, semi auto charge rifle with good armor penetration and stopping power. Great for taking down large heavy enemies at range. Can additionally be overcharged to fire an EMP shot.

Special Ability: EMP Shot. Fires an Electro-Magnetic Pulse, removing shields and temporarily disabling mechs.


Tactical Charge Sniper Rifle:

Advanced charge sniper rifle. Long range, highly accurate, massive damage with high armor penetration. Bullets break into two after fired. Can additionally be overcharged.

Special Ability: Overcharge. Bullets bypass shields, gain ignite chance, single bullet with double damage.


Tactical Charge Light Machinegun:

Advanced charge Light Machine Gun. Large bursts, good damage and decent range. Perfect for supressing large groups of enemies with its bursts. Can be overcharged to fire bursts of fragmentation rounds.

Special Ability: Frag Shot. Supercharge the LMG to fire a burst of fragmentation rounds. Bullets have 50% damage but have a small exposive AOE.



Notes
-Textures were originally based on "GTek's Arsenal 2.0 - Ultimate Survival and Colony Defense" mod. Check out his awesome mod if you want ALOT of quality made weapons in your game!

-Weapons use custom sounds, icons and projectiles.

-The weapons can individually be researched in their own research tab after unlocking Advanced Fabrication.

-The weapons can be crafted at the Fabrication bench.

-Spacer tech Enemies will sometimes arrive with these weapons equipped. They will use the abilities against you. Weapons can be found as high tier loot.

-The mod is very lite and should be safe to install and remove during gameplay.

FAQ
Is this compatible with CE: No. I don't use CE. These weapons were purposefully crafted to be vanilla friendly with their own abilities.

These seem OP?: Generally the weapons are balanced for endgame and cost alot to craft, but situationally with the correct loadout, the abilities are a force multiplier. For example Heavy rifles with its EMP shots will create alot of maneuver room and open up options when attacking mech clusters and bosses, but are ineffective against large groups of soft targets. Tox cloud density is small and AOE damage is scaled down. Their purpose is to weaken and crowd control enemies. Incendiary effectiveness depends on targets fire resistance.

Interesting. I probably need to remove 1.5 tag as supported version. I upgraded the mod a lot since 1.6 came out.

Removed and add this mod a number of times in 1.5 with different places in load order. Causes player map generation to fail, not world map generation. FYI.

tbf, lost cake, the P90 is a very interesting gun, so it would make sense that someone within 3000 years would take inspiration from it at SOME point
