Better Mechanics : Combat Width

Description

An easy mod that reverts the Hearts of Iron IV combat widths back to those of version 1.11.

Why this change?
I like this because it encourages more divisions in combat since the widths are generally larger. It also promotes the creation of larger divisions and the numbers just feel better to me. The goal is to have a less grindy and more dynamic frontline (though this is up for debate).

Current combat widths:

Terrain
Standard Width
Reinforce Width
Plains
90
45
Desert
90
45
Forest
84
42
Jungle
84
42
Hills
80
40
Marsh
78
26
Urban
96
32
Mountain
75
25

What’s next?
In the near future, I’ll be creating my own combat widths based on the 1.11 ones, but with a distinct flavor. Until I can figure out the balance through trial, error, and your feedback (you’re welcome to share your opinions!), enjoy the return of the classic 1.11 widths.

Since I have nothing meaningful to illustrate, enjoy this picture of The Lackawanna Valley by George Inness

Thanks for checking it out!

Bye!

Also by the way this mod is compatible with all mods that dont change combat width themselves or types of terrains so beware of that (looking at you Old World Blues)

I'm centralizing everything for my mod collection on a new Discord server. I'll rarely respond to comments, bug reports, or suggestions here. Please use the Discord Server[discord.gg] for all future requests.

Couldn't find somewhere else to ask, but did you remove the "National Economy" mod? A game save crashed saying it was missing and I can't find it on Workshop anymore

@Żebro Amine has already given a passive xp increase on our better mechanics combat mod, but that's about all that's been done. I do agree with you on point 3, as that would bring it closer to how it was before Waking the Tiger, even though that dlc doesn't exist anymore. Historical generals and marshals would likely be the easiest, the only issue would be balancing. Each general has logistics, planning, defense and attack bonuses, not to mention skill. So it depends how far you want to go, like how historical do you want those generals to be, or just 'close enough'?

@Żebro For example, new Traits?

I don't have any at the moment. I was just browsing through your mods and this idea suddenly came to me...

However, now that I think about it, the following things would be nice to see:
- More historical generals and marshals, as well as unique ones for each national tree in each country.
- Adding more levels and faster leveling.
- Adding additional features that, for example, would further increase the ability to assign divisions or armies.

That's all I could think of. Honestly, if I had enough knowledge about programming or modding, I'd try to implement it myself, but it's something I feel like a coward and would rather not touch at all.

Just out of curiosity, will we ever get a mod that I'll call: "Better Mechanics: Generals and Marshals?"

@jujulowce2009 18 widths are good in 1.12 combat widths. 10 is the best for defense. 44 is best for offense.
