Sparse Craft

Description
Sparse Craft:
Individual military ships are significantly stronger, but fewer in number and much costlier to build and maintain.
  • Naval Capacity & Fleet Command Limit reduced to 1/5 of vanilla values; base Naval Capacity is 4.
  • All sources of additional Naval Capacity and Fleet Command Limit also reduced to 1/5--rounded up where appropriate.
  • Starbase Defense Platform Capacity reduced to ~ 1/2 (base 1).
  • Ships contribute 5x more to Naval Coverage (so Power Projection stays proportionate).
  • Ships cost 3.25x the resources and build 50% slower.
  • Ships cost 5x most resources per month in upkeep. 10x Trade/Logistics.
  • Ships cause 3x the bombardment damage to planets.
  • Ships and Defense Platforms:
    • have 4x the Hull Strength, Armor, and Shields.
    • deal 3x as much damage in space combat.
    • have +2 auxiliary component slots.
  • New Mercenary Enclaves have a minimum fleet size of 10.

Known issues:
  • I don't have Grand Archive or Biogenesis so I can't actually test my changes to Space Fauna or Bioships.
  • The game has a lot of sources of naval cap addition. I think I modified them all, but I've been wrong before.

I haven't tried this one but one of the issue. I have run into in the past with these kind of mods is increasing the price of colony ships seems to give the AI issues. I will try to give it a shot to validate if this is an issue here but you may want to tweak the costs of colony ships to be equal to the original costs.

I've seen other mods similar to this one that affect ship cost, but dont seem to affect ALL ship classes (i.e. modded classes or fallen empire ships). Does this mod actually increase the price for ALL ship types?
If corvetts are menace, what about Enigma escorts...

Yeah ships irl are hard to maintain, and that's just naval ships!
Imagine spacebound military ships? Even harder I imagine due to needing far more to defend from, especially going to places like Black holes or hyper active stars that flare constantly ontop of taking hits from weaponry.

This type of balance is interesting though corvettes I hope aren't crazy strong like Zinn is saying.
Corvettes got boring so fast when I spammed them in the early days of the games development.

Just from the log here it would seem that corvettes are now even more op, since the +2 auxiliary components is for all ships (and one can spam a lot of corvettes, ergo the corvettes get a stronger buff than battleships)
Perhaps let it scale?

I hope, someday Paradox take idea about more valued and less "spammed" ships, and integrate it into Stellaris military gameplay.
