Ad hoc at Beaurains final
Arras, France, May 21st 1940
Quite unexpectedly, the British launched a major counterattack from Arras against the spearheades of Rommels breakthrough, catching the initial German units unprepared as they attemped to deploy. The British infantry were halted, but the supporting armour pushed on deap into the German postions.
