Description
tl;dr
Lets you skip suicide to get your health back when you reach a safe room. Restores HP to 50 at the end of a chapter if you have less than 50 HP. Resets incaps as well if you have any. Does nothing otherwise.

This is a VScript, it only works on local servers.

Fluffy Description
It's dumb when you get to a safe room and your friends decide to kill themselves to restore their health.

You agree it's dumb that's why you don't do it.

You try to tell your friends they're ruining your immersion and they don't care, they kill themselves anyway.

You were about to disown them and get new friends who respect immersion but then you discovered this mod.

Now you can keep your friends and your immersion.

What the mod does:
If you're below 50 HP when the chapter ends it heals you to 50 to bypass the need for suicide:

-If you already have 50 or higher HP nothing changes.
-If you're below 50 HP it restores you to 50 HP
-If you had any temporary HP it's reduced by the amount of normal HP you gained.
-If you're black and white or have any incaps it resets them to 0.
-If you're downed inside the safe room when the door closes it will still do all of the above.

Known issues with the mod:
If you have any incaps when you are healed by the mod your characters will still say their wounded voice lines occasionally. The next time you're healed by a medkit this goes away. It has no effect on gameplay and it's less immersion breaking than making it to the safe room and then killing yourself, in my opinion.

Yes I wrote that it is a VScript in the description. This is for playing with friends in a locally hosted lobby. It's assumed if you play with friends you will communicate to them any mods you're running that you think they should be aware of. Even if you don't wish to communicate the mod doesn't penalize you for killing yourself if you still want to do it. It just gives you the option not to do it, that is all.

Yes that's EXACTLY what I'm saying (plus your mod wouldn't work in public lobbies anyway due to it being a script)

Are you saying that if you play with randoms they'll heal or kill themselves before the door closes, thus bypassing the mod?

I play with friends. I told them one time "hey I'm running a mod that heals you to 50 on map transition so don't waste your medkit or kill yourself at the end of the chapter anymore okay?" and they instantly understood it and never did it again unless they preserved their medkit to the end of the chapter and wanted to heal to prevent any leftover medkits anyway.

Just communicate with your team. "Hey I'm running an autoheal mod that heals when we close the saferoom door don't waste your medkit or kill yourself". If they still kill themselves it's not your problem, you can still preserve your own resources and life.

I'm not "confused" I'm just aware of what kind of player behavior happens especially on Expert difficulty in public lobbies (or at least during my experiences) medkits on Expert were treated like literal piece of gold since the director never swapped any pills out for one if the team did terrible so anyone B&W never ever would want to waste one the following chapter, all the stuff I mentioned happens BEFORE the door is closed meaning you're still on the previous level so even in theory that your mod is meant to prevent this stuff, it won't due to player behavior doing everything before the door is closed thus before the mod can even activate.
Heck just to paint an example of the kind of player behavior I'm talking about, scenario 4 with Francis B&W, this player asked to be killed in the saferoom so their stuff is saved, moment they got there it would have happened as requested THEN the door would be closed to transition to the next level.

You're confused man. My mod doesn't stop you from killing yourself or wasting your medkit. It just gives you the option not to do it. I'll try to give you an example:

>you reach the safe room with 20 hp
>you decide to kill yourself to respawn with 50 hp
You can still do this or:
You can run my mod and instead of killing yourself you can just close the door and your hp will be restore to 50. No need to kill yourself. You can still kill yourself if you want there just isn't a need to do it with this mod.

And what's preventing everything I just said BEFORE that transition let alone the door closing? Like the mentioned animation skip for the medkit, that happens only when the door is closed and you were already using the medkit and personal experience, whenever people asked to be killed they did it BEFORE the door was closed so their items would be inside the saferoom when they respawned.
