The CRAB Medium Lifter puts the Prometheus on station outside Kerbin's Gravitational Influence with 24,000 units of Liquid Fuel for Maneuvers and Captures, and 100,000 units of Xenon Gas. It's ION system is balanced to run wide open out to DUNA and offers good ION Cruise Speeds out to JOOL.
At some point on the way back you'll need to go for it and kick the Hull. The G1500si has good range on the IONs in FREESPACE and stands a better chance at a Kerbin capture on it's own due to it's lower Mass. It can survive a "First Skip" at 45,000 ALT at any speed if you're coming in hot.
