[B42] Ogrim Mod's - Clean Rags On Clothing Washer

Description
Ever wished your washing machine could do more than just sit there? Now it can.

Make your laundry work for you. While the machine’s humming, your rags stop being gross — and your bandages turn clinic-ready.

🔍 What it does

Auto-clean: While a working washer has water + electricity and is running, it automatically cleans dirty medical items from your inventory every 10 in-game minutes.
Auto-sterilize: Dryers and washer–dryer combos sterilize clean bandages while operating, turning them into sterile, medical-grade versions.
Detergent bonus: If the machine contains Cleaning Liquid, Bleach or Bar Soap, it consumes them per cycle to boost how many items get cleaned/sterilized.

Fully integrated into washer, dryer, and combo unit ON/OFF switches.

🧪 Supported items

Core medical cloth items (e.g., dirty rags/bandages → clean; clean bandages → sterile).
Full support for Bodily Functions items like Wiped Tissue and Wiped Rag.

If it’s icky and made of cloth, the drum probably fixes it.

⚙️ Sandbox & Balance

All values — including how many items are cleaned or sterilized per cycle, and how much bonus each cleaning product provides — are configurable via sandbox options, allowing full control over balance and realism.

🌍 Languages

English, Español, Türkçe & Português (BR)

Immersive, balanced, hands-free medical maintenance!

Let the laundry do the dirty work — and the sterilization too. 💪

@RndmMeme: You can sterilize Bandages, but need to do this in the dryer machine!
RndmMeme 31 Aug @ 12:29pm
Well, the author's answer is a bit misleading but I can confirm that when you place the washer inside and keep a rain barrel (or other suitable fluid container) 1 up and 1 behind (sink bug) you can plumb and operate it.

@ogrimdooh I fail to understand when an item is "sterile" ? After 10 in-game minutes it is clean and another 10 in-game minutes it is sterile? Because the washer says "Nothing to clean" if clean items are inside it. Do I add a bottle of alcohol to the machine to sterilize?

Other than that - great mod!

@RndmMeme: The mod use the vanila machine cycle to work, so it will drain the default water!

This sounds amazing - but it won't be plumbed like a sink to barrely, will it? Because there is no point to it if the water supply is out :D Only rain barrels after the initial pahse.

I love the mod :lunar2019piginablanket:

To be fair though, it is OP to be able to produce sterilized rags in bulk, while in vanilla you need to spend 0.5L of boiled water per rag and it takes like 10 minutes to make. I just spent a whole day sterilizing rags in a pot that way and I was able to produce around 30 sterilized rags in a single day. I had to refill the pot 10 times (so 15L of water). With this mod, it is possible to sterilize infinite amounts of rags very quickly if you have the machine plumbed and the electricity connected.

I guess it all balances out because sterilized rags aren't even THAT useful... you can still get wound infection even while using them...

@ᶜ8ᴱ 🎱 ๖ۜKarma: Hey!! Thx for the feedback \o/ Your idea is interesting! I'll take a look at its complexity later hahahaha xD

To be honest, I was considering doing this as a mod concept myself for a first mod, but you beat me to it and I honestly like how you did it. The way I had planned it was to change them to have a dirt/blood bar that would get cleaned in the washing machine. But if you would humor a suggestion, wet bandages/rags. Basically having to dry them before you can sterilize them. Just another step for immersion sake. Feel free to say no or not even respond to this comment, but if you do add that then I will thank you ahead of time, and if not then oh well I still like your mod enough to keep it favorited!
