In Chapter 1, you are steering the crew to its doom and then going into a bizarro looping corridor scene. The only missable achievement is Anya's employee card, so make sure to view it before leaving the Cockpit!

Open the developer console

Before even starting the game, on the main menu you can press the tilde key "~" to open the developer console and get the achievement. You can do this any time during the game.

Start Mouthwashing

This achievement should unlock right at the beginning of this chapter after the "I hope this hurts" message.

Find Anya's employee card

Anya's employee card is in the bottom compartment of the Utility closet.

When you leave the piloting controls and interact with the Utility closet, click on the bottom compartment.

Anya's employee card is stuck to the left-side of the wall.

Click on Anya's employee card to unlock the achievement.

In Chapter 2, you can explore the ship after discussing with the crew. Whatever you do though, DO NOT go to Cockpit to "Acquire Code Scanner".

Open and close Curly's mouth repeatedly.

You can get this achievement anytime you can interact with Curly in the Medical Room, but now is the earliest time to get this achievement.

Go to the Medical Room.

Interact with Curly and open and close Curly's mouth a couple of times to unlock the achievement.

Open the door to Cargo before acquiring the Code Scanner.

Normally, you would have to get the Code Scanner from the Cockpit to see the code for the Cargo Hold, but the door has a set code for every playthrough.

Navigate to the bottom of the ship and find the Cargo Hold door. Interact with the keypad and type in 4517.

This chapter is a flashback with the player playing Curly as he frees Daisuke from foam.

Lock eyes with Yimpy for 10 seconds.

Yimpy is a drawing of a character on a post-it note in the Medical Room. Whenever you are in the Medical room and can get close to the cork board you can get this achievement, but now is the earliest time to get this achievement.

(Note: You get access to the Medical Room in Chapter 2, but--since there is foam blocking the cork board--you can't get close enough to stare at Yimpy).

Get up from the desk and walk around the desk behind Anya to find the cork board.

Find the post-it note labelled Yimpy in the top right and stare at it for 10 seconds to get the achievement.

In Chapter 5, you are in a bizarro-version of the Cargo Hold where there is a TV that plays cartoons and the mouthwash commercial.

Find Curly hiding next to the TV.

For this achievement, you need to find bandaged Curly staring through the shelves of mouthwash.

Go behind the TV and to the back left. Look for the black and yellow tape on the ground.

To the left of the black and yellow tape, Look between the shelves. Curly will jump at you and you should unlock this achievement.

In Chapter 7, the crew throws Curly a surprise birthday party. Hurray!

Mix the Pony Express Specialty Mocktail at Curly's birthday party.

DO NOT make the cake first. Once you make and pick up the cake you cannot put it down without triggering a cutscene that moves you to the next chapter. Make sure you make the mocktail first.

In the kitchen, you can find the recipe for the mocktail in the Papa Polle's Delights book. Simply follow the recipe and once you pick up the mocktail the achievement will unlock.

In this chapter, you need to check up on Curly and will find Daisuke's employee card.

Find Daisuke's employee card

Daisuke's employee card is on the living room table with the Sorry! board game.

Click on the card to view it, and the achievement will unlock.

In this chapter, Daisuke and Swansea are drunk. This chapter has Swansea's employee card.

Use a bottle of Mouthwash

The first time you can get mouthwash in your inventory is the beginning of this chapter from Daisuke.

Interact with Daisuke on the floor just outside the Cargo Hold door. After opening up to you, he will give you the mouthwash in his hand.

Go into your inventory and use the mouthwash. Nothing happens, but it was worth a shot. The achievement will unlock after this.

Find Swansea's employee card

In the living area, Swansea will be dancing with the axe. Before speaking to him, go to the food vending machine. Inside the vending machine will be Swansea's employee card.

Click on the card to view it and the achievement will unlock.

After acquiring this achievement. I would restart the game to get back to the main menu to setup for the next achievement which will be the most difficult achievement in the game.

In this chapter, Daisuke is bleeding out and the player needs to go get mouthwash from the Cargo Hold.

Take the Mouthwash bottle from Polle within 35 seconds of starting Chapter 14

WARNING: This is the most difficult achievement in the game. In this section, I will go over step-by-step what you will need to do, but I would highly recommend watching a video on how to do this. This achievement will most likely require multiple attempts because 1) 35 seconds is not a lot of time, 2) this will require precise button presses to maximize time, and 2) there are reports that this achievements can be a little buggy. Review and practice the steps below until you can do it quickly in one go.

If you haven't already, restart your game and get to the main menu

To start, enable cheats in the developer console by pressing tilde "~" and "Enable Cheats" in the top right. When enabled, the console will display the controls for the cheats. Memorize these keys:
Noclip - O
Skip dialogue - P
Skip chapter - N

Next, select "Chapter 13" and close the developer console using the tilde key "~". After the title card, press "N" to skip to "Chapter 14".

___

The timer starts now. When the title card appears for "Chapter 14," hold down "P" to skip through the dialogue.

___

After the dialogue, press the Right Mouse Button to exit out of inspecting Daisuke.

___

Open your inventory with TAB and turn on the Code Scanner with Left Mouse Button.

___

Press TAB to exit the inventory menu, look down, and press "O" to enable Noclip. Go through the ground just enough to see the black out-of-bounds and press "O" again to disable Noclip and begin falling through the floor.

___

If done correctly, text will flash on the screen and you will appear in a bizzaro-version of the Cargo Hold stairs.

___

Enable Noclip again by pressing "O" and move to the left of the staircase. Then press "O" again to disable Noclip to fall quickly into the black pit.

___

If done correctly, text will flash on screen you will appear on the catwalks of a bizzaro-Cargo Hold. Look straight ahead to the boxes closest to you and enable Noclip by pressing "O". Quickly run straight through the boxes and hold the Shift key to go faster. Do not worry about the blind monster just go forward until you see the Polle statue and quickly grab the mouthwash.

After grabbing the mouthwash, the achievement should unlock when you return to Daisuke. If not try quitting the game and seeing if it unlocked. If you still do not have it unlocked then you will need to reattempt Chapter 14.

In this chapter, you make a spiked drink to knock out Swansea. Why does Jimmy know how to make spiked drinks?

Find Jimmy's employee card.

After starting the chapter, go into the living area and approach the broken apart Polle statue.

In a hat close to the couches is Jimmy's employee card. Click it to view it and unlock the achievement.

In this chapter, Swansea ends Daisuke's suffering, Anya is found dead, and the player is supposed to find the gun.

For this chapter DO NOT go into the Cockpit. Doing so will void the "Taking Notes" achievement.

Find Curly's employee card

After Daisuke is put to rest, head down stairs to the Utility room. On the floor, next to only functioning cryostasis pod is Curly's employee card.

Click on the card to view it and the achievement will unlock.

Open the Pony Express Protection Kit without returning to Cockpit

Without going to the Cockpit, go back upstairs to the Medical Room to find Anya and the gun case. The code for the gun case is 739. Input the code and the achievement will unlock.

In this chapter, the player begins in a dark hallway facing a door that leads to Swansea's Utility room key dangling above a vent.

The only achievements in this chapter are related to Swansea at the end of the chapter. So make sure to get these achievements or you will have to restart and go through Daisuke's lengthy guilt arc again.

Get killed by Swansea 10 times in the graveyard.

Towards the end of the chapter, you will face off with Swansea in a graveyard. Make sure to not shoot Swansea at all.

Swansea will only attack you from where you are not looking.

The best place to stand is in front of Daisuke's memorial picture with no vision of the entrances. Let Swansea kill you 10 times and the achievement will unlock.

Note: While you are being axed by Swansea, you should prepare for the next achievement below.

Shoot Swansea in the graveyard right after spinning 360 degrees

This is the second hardest achievement in the game if you are not an FPS god or just haven't trained to spin 360 in shooters.

All you will need to do is do a little trick FPS players do to adjust their sensitivity to do 360 spins. Do the following:

• 1) Hold right mouse button to aim down sights at an object (like Daisuke's photo).
  
• 2) Lift your mouse up and then set it down in a comfortable position that you would naturally and consistently have your mouse (you should still be aiming down sights on the same object).
  
• 3) Move your mouse quickly to your keyboard until your thumb hits the keyboard.
  
• 4) Important: Is your gun generally aiming at or near the same object? If no, adjust your sensitivity and repeat until you can consistently land on the same object two or three times.

The point of moving your mouse towards your keyboard until your thumb hits it is to act as a consistent stopping point for your spin. Therefore, this makes spinning 360 and landing on the same object more consistent.

The method listed below is for people who are right-handed. Sorry left-handed folks.

After practicing on an object, it's time to 360 no-scope Swansea. Exit left from Daisuke's memorial.

Turn left to see a fenced off grave. Right now you are looking at the building where Swansea spawns behind whenever he kills you. Whenever Swansea kills you, quickly make your way to face this fenced off grave. This will make Swansea consistently come to attack you on your left through Daisuke's memorial.

___

Aim down sights at the fenced off grave and prepare to spin. Some things to keep in mind:

• 1) When aiming at the fenced off grave, you will actually be doing more like a 450 (360+90) degree spin, so your mouse may be a bit farther from your keyboard.
  
• 2) Your gun requires you to hold Left Mouse Button down for about 1 second before actually firing, so you will need to click and hold your Left Mouse Button mid-spin for the gun to go off on time.
  
• 3) You will need to do all of the above without looking at Swansea and waiting for him to get close enough so he can't run away. You can tell he is about to strike by an intense blurring vignette effect (shown below) which is your queue to do the 360 (450) degree spin trickshot!

You get three hits before you win the fight, so make your shots count. After you shoot Swansea with my 450 degree spin trick, the achievement will unlock.

In this chapter, the player puts Curly into the cryostasis pod and leads Jimmy to his death. Hurray!

Finish Mouthwashing

After Jimmy puts Curly in the cryostasis pod and the credits begin to roll, the achievement will unlock.

Congratulations! You got all 18 achievements for Mouthwashing.
