[B42] Dead Load Trait

Description

💀 Dead Load Trait
Cost: 5 Trait Points

Description:
Dragging bodies became routine and made you stronger. Gear feels lighter and no longer slows you down.

The Dead Load trait can be earned through gameplay by dragging zombies a total of 1500 tiles.

Effect:
🟢 Worn items weigh 25% less

What This Mod Does:
This mod introduces a custom trait called Dead Load. When a character has this trait, any clothing or gear worn on the body (vests, jackets, armor, helmets, boots, gloves, and more) will have its weight reduced by 25%.

For example, an item that normally weighs 2.4 units will only weigh 1.8 units when worn.
This only affects items that are equipped or worn, not items carried in your inventory or containers.

I created this mod because heavy armor in the game weighed too much and quickly filled up the 20 kg limit. With this trait, you can wear heavier protective gear without being weighed down as much.
(This also applies to modded items.)

@Loccatpowersdog Seems like the RV mod is moving you tiles away instead of actual "teleporting" which made you get the trait lol also about the wet jacket yeah I saw that but I also saw that it fixed itself so it should be fine

A few funny interactions: While wearing things with the trait active they "actually" reduce in weight which means they can weigh less if transferred directly into another container. They will eventually "fix" themselves but it can lead to say a wet jacket now weighing more than it did (2.02 or some odd rounding number) if it's removed in a funny order. Again it will fix itself eventually especially if you leave the container.

Another one that was a result of a few mods was I had Z's spawn in my Trucker trailer via Vanvival/RV mods & trying to remove the dead body TP's you from the assigned zone to back where you were... in this instance it had me dragging an invisible corpse, instantly gave me the trait, & the corpse was still there when I reloaded the interior.

always liked mods related to your character growing accostumed to things a normal person shouldnt be, because they feel natural to add to the game. I feel like if they ever were to buff veteran, it would be with something like this. Great mod

Thank you. Great mod!

@Monizious, It should take around 3 days in-game of moving corpses. Eventually, you’ll get it, don’t worry. I tried it myself and I did get the trait, it's just a matter of time... Remember, the trait is about getting used to drag corpses so it can't be that fast :deadrat: mmm look at it in this way if you kill 150 zombies and you drag each one 10 tiles, you’ll get the trait (that is the best way to see it)

Anyway to track this? I dragged a bunch of body but I don't know how close am I to get the trait?
Neighz  [author] 8 Aug @ 9:10am
@jaemissesmobo, I was thinking about that before, but it ended up just dragging zombies 1500 tiles, and that is what the trait is about. You get it for dragging zombies because you get used to
