Sometime to solve an issue you need to look at it in a new perspective... unless the issue is the new perspective...

This was originally made as a collab with another friend, two maps, two weeks, no communication with one agreed upon theme... but because I grew attached to this idea, I decided to run with it and see where I can take this bizarre concept~

This is very early in development, if you find bugs or have feedback, there is a discussion board on this mod or make your own... I ask and encourage all feedback~

I am trying to do something truly unique with the campaign, something you have never seen in other campaigns, so this kind of gameplay is uncharted in this game. If you really do hate it, believe it or not I do want to know, because "Standing Gauntlet" are a new type of event in this game in particular, and I do want to keep tweaking the numbers or bring down necessary sledge hammers till this is fun for majority of players~


I came out of retirement to make one more campaign... I want this to be the culmination of my time in this game and in the mapping scene for l4d2...
This game has been an obsession of my since L4D1. I have seen the and lived through the golden age, seeing new incredbile campaigns posted on L4D2maps. I have seen when campaigns were teased, the work in progress flow and the rather common death of maps shared to quickly: Last Bastion, From Palms to Bombs, Life's a Beach. I was there to see the steady decline of campaigns, and the surgence from different cultures: like when "somefun" "greybox" and the first "hehe4" campaign came out.
And even own campaigns and failures. I have 7 maps publicly available on the workshop. If you count Gamemaps, that is now 8, if you count mediafire links from 3rd party websites of review blogs, that is now 9, if you can somehow get dead links to work again on old forums, that is now 12... If you count the campaigns that were worked on enough to have a name a tag line? 29 maps. I love doing this, I love making maps. I love doing this.

This campaign is going to be a final capstone to my life. Where I can finally move on, no more looking back with regret and longing. And I would love for anyone and everyone to be able to join me on this ride and shape it be perfect~

yeah, thats the main reason why barns almost always has a tank because the map is so small that the player "progresses too quickly" so it just spawns one in

Without manually spawning tanks myself, the boss infected spawns are, to my knowledge anyway, determined based on flow, flow traveled and which spots I manually mark as boss threat spots. I don't claim to know everything~
Maybe if I add a script to disable specifically witches maybe? But at the same time I am following the 3 minute rule the best I can, so having multiple tanks show up would be over kill in most cases.

so are the tank spawns gonna be similar to l4d1? cause in l4d1 you can get 2 tank spawns per chapter in l4d2 the 2nd "Boss infected" usually just turns into the witch

More tanks in future~
During the very first alpha playtests, the tank kept spawning in the sideways section, and would either just die on its way up or would corner you in the chokeyness of that section... or just as you get inside the warehouse in the upsidedown, so ch1 I have a trigger to disable bosses once you hit the topside warehouse... Ch2 all bets are off and same with everything after~

And I will continue to look into the numbers. Since I am working with a "new-ish" kind of event, I am learning as I go with what does and doesn't work~

map has promise, i play on expert so common infected spam can be problematic. Should have more tanks! but good work so far~

If I keep the loose story, it will be made into audio eventually, more text right now because I am still workshopping certain elements as I go... since not even I know how I am ending it yet...
But I can easily change the speed of that, is something on my list~

map is alright. the second level dialog text goes too fast to read because it pushes the text up in chat and would be better to be voice acted or if anything slowed down

I know people say I am spamming commons, I was not aware people are that split on gauntlets.
I still stand my ground that it is not that bad, but looking into the numbers during the events are still on the list.
Nothing is finalized yet, so all feedback is still appreciated~

It is the beginning of a 5 chapter campaign, ch3 starts you with tier 2, and you can fight some tier 2's tucked away in some secret spots in ch2~
