Thinking With Pixels

Description
Portal has some of the most unique items in Terraria, being the Portal Gun and Companion Cube. However, these items are either hard to obtain or aren't useful enough to use constantly. This mod aims to add a bunch more content from the Portal series to the game, including:

    Long Fall Boots
  • Takes 25 Silver Bars, 10 Iron Bars, and a Lucky Horseshoe to craft.
  • Negates fall damage and increases falling speed by 5 (stacks with other items).

    Combustible Lemon
  • Crafted with a Lemon and 5 Grenades, occasionally gives words of wisdom from the amazing Cave Johnson.

    Intelligence Dampening Drive
  • Purchased from the Cyborg after the Martian Invasion is defeated.
  • Provides a light pet based on Wheatley from Portal 2.

    Lab Rat's Vanity Set
  • Each part is crafted with 10 Leather and 8 Silk.
  • Channel your inner test subject with a stylish outfit from Portal.

    Scientific Radio
  • Purchased from the Cyborg after the Martian Invasion is defeated.
  • Acts as a music box and plays the most iconic Portal song.

As of right now, nearly everything fun-wise I wanted to add for the Mod Jam has been implemented. My next goal is to work on recreating some of the game's puzzle elements, but I may work on creating a custom NPC to sell this mod's items. We'll see how everything goes. :)

would it be possible to add a toggle for cave johnson in the settings?
Hotklou 6 Aug @ 2:26pm
Yeah, that's probably it. I'm excited to see more content for this mod (Portal is such a cool crossover!), and I hope you release a fix for that bug soon. <3

With how it's coded, it should be selecting randomly which line to use. It uses Terraria's variant system which, as far as I'm aware, has them randomly select one to play. Hopefully with more lines added, though, it should reduce the frequency of the same sound playing twice in a row (I've experienced that a lot when testing lol).

Another thing I noticed is that some voicelines were *much* more common than others. I'm not sure if that's just coincidence though, but the game kept playing 2 of them over and over and it took a long time before it would play any others.

Whoopsies! I'll look into fixing that bug as soon as I can. I've also been meaning to lower the volume and add more lines with the next update as well after I added another sound and noticed how loud it is in comparison to Terraria's sounds, but given how difficult the other things I've been adding are (since I'm a one-man team) it might take a little bit longer to get there.

Rest assured, these are definitely fixes I'm looking into implementing and should be available in the next update. ;)

Also, the voicelines are kind of loud. It would be nice to have a config option to make them softer.

And please add more Cave Johnson voicelines. If you're worried about the size of the mod becoming too large or something, then maybe they can be put in an addon mod that requires this one to be installed?

Bug: I always get the Cave Johnson voicelines, even when I don't have a combustible lemon in my inventory. I think this started as soon as I picked up my first normal lemon.

this is probably the fastest I've ever subscribed to something

Love the idea of the mod and it's implementation, well done!

Also, "Why did you even NEED To add Long fall boots? This is Terraria." <-LMAO
(No, i'm not trying to start a fight or bicker. If i wanted to do that, i'd rage-bait on Reddit.)
