Odyssey Orbital Trader

Description
This is a simple mod that adds a single type of orbital trader ship affiliated with the Traders Guild faction, you can buy almost every item from the Odyssey dlc in this trader.

2025.7.11 v1.1 Update:
The Odyssey orbital trader now belongs to the Traders Guild faction. This means you can call its trade ship like any other, by contacting the Traders Guild via your comms console.

2025.9.2 v1.2 Update:
Significantly reduced the supply of other common animals, and will always sell alpha thrumbo and hive queen. This adjustment also notably lessens game lag when spawning the Odyssey orbital trader.
Reduced the sale quantity of gravcore and gravlite panels. The sale quantity of gravlite panels is now basically consistent with the vanilla exotic goods trader.
Increased the sale quantity of components, advanced components, plasteel, and gold.
Will always sell at least one, sometimes two, and at most four (with a extremely low probability) Archotech implant that does not belong to the Royalty DLC.
Reduced the sale quantity of unique weapons.
The spawn weight of the Exotic Goods Trader has been reduced from 1 to 0.4, while the spawn weight of the Odyssey orbital trader has been increased from 1 to 1.6.

If this mod is what you need, my other mods may also suit you.

Allows crafting the unique weapons from the Odyssey dlc, but requires twice the materials compared to regular weapons, and generates traits and abilities randomly.

@AmberGlowBug : The orbital trader causes game stutters when spawning because it offers a large number of animals for sale. Adjustments have been made to significantly reduce the number of animals available for sale. Additionally, could you please elaborate on which aspects are so unbalanced that they seem ridiculous? I will make balance adjustments based on the feedback from the comments section.

@Koshnak08 : Additionally, as Harry_Robinson1 mentioned, there are times in the game when you urgently need a specific item, but the related quests simply refuse to appear. Or, when your pawns risk their lives entering a space station or base heavily guarded by numerous drones or mechanoids, spending even over ten minutes in real time, only to receive meager rewards that are utterly disproportionate to the effort invested—such an experience is undoubtedly extremely frustrating.
During the initial exploration of these ruins, the novelty of discovery and interaction might somewhat make up for the lackluster rewards. However, once the game has been played long enough and that sense of freshness fades, continuing to explore these sites becomes as agonizing as trudging through mud.

@Koshnak08 : Yes, under the influence of this Orbital Trader MOD, you can obtain almost all items from the Odyssey DLC without ever leaving your home, which seriously contradicts the DLC's original intention of encouraging players to explore outdoors. Therefore, I have attempted to balance this by significantly increasing the prices of certain rare items and limiting their available quantities.

This is SO unbalanced it's ridiculous. Also whenever it spawns in it freezes my entire game for a second or two.

@Buff_Cosmo i agree, a better option is call orbital traders mod. vanilla exotic goods traders sell gravlite panels sometimes so i think that mod is balanced since you need to spend 500 silver to summon a trader and their inventory is not ridiculously big

I like the idea of this mod, specially for gravpanels but the balance feels off to me unfortunately, the inventories and available resources feel way too big

@Koshnak08 I think it's still useful. I don't want to buy everything from Odyssey, but I think everyone's had the experience where they need exactly one item and after 4 in game years you can't find a quest for it or a trader who has it. That's me right now, so I'm willing to accept installing a mod like this and trust myself not to use it to ruin the fun.

doesnt this kinda defeat the whole point of odyssey? like, this is a wonderful qol mod for those who dont care but like being able to get everything just from buying it seems to defeat the point

If you are using VFE or The Deadman's Switch mod, move the Odyssey Trader mod to the very bottom of your load order.
