Systems Commonwealth / High Guard
At its height, the Systems Commonwealth was a vast, multi-species civilization spanning three galaxies - a beacon of unity, reason, and high technology. Founded and led by the Vedrans, a race of intelligent centaur-like beings with powerful psionic abilities, the Commonwealth was built on the pillars of mutual cooperation, law, and progress. It maintained peace for over 3,000 years - until it collapsed in an instant of betrayal and chaos.

The military arm of the Commonwealth, the High Guard, was its shield and sword: an elite, honor-bound fleet tasked not with conquest, but protection. Their warships were advanced AIs - living, thinking ships - like the legendary Andromeda Ascendant. These vessels were not only powerful but deeply philosophical, capable of commanding fleets, interpreting law, and questioning morality.

The fall of the Commonwealth during the Nietzschean Uprising shattered the known order, plunging the galaxies into centuries of war, fragmentation, and piracy. But even in ruin, the legacy of the Commonwealth endured - in ideas, in old codes, and in the lone High Guard captains and ships that survived.

To those who remember it, the Systems Commonwealth represents a lost golden age: a dream of civilization guided not by tyranny or profit, but by ideals. Its restoration is the mission of a few, the mockery of many, and the last hope of a galaxy spiraling toward entropy.

They do not seek power.
They seek order, purpose - and the rebirth of what was lost.
