And I mean by FAR. Emerald is doing like 3x the single-target damage of everything else whereas Amber just feels like a modest step up from wand of sparking.
For topaz - the lingering projectile always sends to the right, which can make it better or worse depending on whether you're to the left or right of the enemy
Ruby - i can appreciate high knockback, but it's too high. it feeling like the slap hand
I don't think the alternate gem staves is way better, i think this mod is cool and you should keep at it
And if you want to expand on it, you could make hardmode versions of it using the hardmode ores, plus you could make a rainbow staff that requires chlorophyte or something
