gem staff reworks

Description
considering the gem staves make up almost half of an early game mages arsenal, its no surprise someone wanted to change them to at least be somewhat cooler

this mod reworks the gem staves functionlity, idea by regularsama

Amethyst - bounces between enemies hit 3 times
Topaz - projectiles stop after a short distance, lingering
Emerald - fires in clumps of three
Sapphire - has infinite piercing
Ruby - explodes on impact, dealing area damage and high KB
Amber - can charge up a shot up to 3 times to deal 3x damage (hold) [no autoswing]
Diamond - has homing


edit: only after i finished making this mod did i find out that there's another mod with the same goal as mine, and reworks the gem staves but with way better ideas,
i really recommend checking out Alternative Gem Staffs if you're interested since its literally basically a cooler version of this mod but feel free to check this out since its still fun, i made this for my enjoyment and to test my skills

1.1.0:

-fixed a bug where the topaz projectile knock back will only send towards the rightside.
-reduced the ruby projectiles knock back, it will now only deal "Strong Knockback" explosion radius stays the same
-updated the icon (its probably still mildly annoying, lmk if you guys care)

Emerald is by far the best, Amber is by far the worst.
And I mean by FAR. Emerald is doing like 3x the single-target damage of everything else whereas Amber just feels like a modest step up from wand of sparking.

the topaz staff always sends right? ill work on that,thanks for letting me know, and ill maybe reduce the ruby kb, ill test it among some other stuff

This mod is quite cool. Just a few comments on it
For topaz - the lingering projectile always sends to the right, which can make it better or worse depending on whether you're to the left or right of the enemy

Ruby - i can appreciate high knockback, but it's too high. it feeling like the slap hand

I don't think the alternate gem staves is way better, i think this mod is cool and you should keep at it

And if you want to expand on it, you could make hardmode versions of it using the hardmode ores, plus you could make a rainbow staff that requires chlorophyte or something

Mientras el mod en cuestión solo cambie el arma o el bastón, y no el proyectil, este mod solo cambia los proyectiles de cada bastón. Sin embargo, el Bastón Esmeralda y el Bastón Ámbar requieren cambios en el bastón del arma, por lo que no deberían anularse.

No recomiendo usar ningún otro mod de mejora ni modificación de bastón con este, a menos que solo cambie las estadísticas del arma.
