Description
Ace's Realistic Flashlight

WILL NOT WORK WITH LOGIC MODS, LIKE CRAFTABLE AND LOOTABLE ZONE

This mod overhauls the player flashlight for a more realistic and immersive experience, enhancing visuals without sacrificing the game's atmosphere.

New textures and changes are not reflected in screenshots, I will update those soon.

Key Features
  • HQ Visuals: Features a new, high-quality texture and realistic material for a more grounded look.
  • Rebalanced Beam: The unrealistic "lamp" radius of the vanilla flashlight is gone. In its place is a tighter, brighter beam that reaches farther, improving visibility without killing the horror vibe.
  • True Light Source: The "fake" light on the player is removed. The flashlight now illuminates from its correct position, causing your weapon and arms to cast realistic shadows.
  • Volumetric Lighting: Fog, smoke, and other atmospheric effects are now properly illuminated by the flashlight, deepening immersion.
  • Optimized Performance: The new volumetric effects are balanced by removing the old fake light, resulting in minimal performance impact.
  • Flashlight Animations: The flashlight now has slight shake to it, which increases if the players is walking or sprinting.
  • Emission Flickering: Flashlight bulb will now flicker when an Emission is occurring.

COMPATIBILITY
Modifies Unreal Engine Assets located in
/GameLite/Blueprints/Characters/Player/BP_Stalker2Character.uasset
/GameLite/Blueprints/Curves/FlashlightInnerRadiusCurve.uasset
/GameLite/Blueprints/Curves/FlashlightOuterRadiusCurve.uasset

BP_Stalker2Character.uasset will cause major issues with a lot of Logic Mods until GSC Adds a new way to load logic mods. There arent many mods out there which use this file, but please double check.

As the lighting is now more dynamic, please report any visual bugs you might encounter.

Last screenshot is vanilla flashlight for quick comparison.

Should be compatible but might look strange. Let me know

Is this compatible with the mod “he puts the flashlight on his head”?

This mod seems to have created a weird floating flashlight that obscures my view?
King DaMuncha 28 Jul @ 10:11am
Please make the diameter or penumbra a little bigger.

after the latest update the flashlight now causes some issues while looking through a scope, the reticle becomes invisible if it is aimed towards the sky. if your target has the sky behind it the reticle will vanish. the scope lens also becomes dark the issue stops if your light is turned off.

Flashlight already interacts with lumen, yes. you can increase the GI intensity but it will have a big performance impact. You can also increase the number of bounces from Lumen but again, will destroy performance. Give it a shot, 700gb you can always get back by uninstalling later

Does the light source interact with lumen GI? I love how you've set up the flashlight in this mod, but am considering making my own that greatly increases the amount of bounce light if its possible. Just wanted to ask about your experience working with the zone kit before I make space for a 700GB download, lol.

Now that Im using this mod, I feel like i have tunnel vision when the flashlight is on, Could you made the radius/diameter bigger/cover more of the screen?

It does bob around as you move, its just hard to notice with all the camera movement
King DaMuncha 12 Jul @ 5:29am
It would be neat if the flash light bobbed around as you move.
