Overview

What are Golden Lanterns and how do they work?

Main overview of the map where every location is marked by a red X

Lantern 1 is always Lit and is just outside the Red Rook Observatory base entrance from Crossroads

Lantern 2 is just across from the Fae Shop Keep and to the right of the highway/train tracks off M35

Lantern 3 is located in the Slums on the left side if you're coming from the Depot to the left of the Blue Hotel in an Alley

Lantern 4 is on the Skeleton Coast near the cliff just behind the "Horse" on the beach

Lantern 5 is in Grey Water Marsh which can either be accessed from the Stone Maze or through a rail line in Revolutions basement

What are Golden Lanterns and how do they work?

Golden Lanterns are a fast travel system that can only be accessed by using a Golden Tesseract which teleports you to a new zone called the Golden Nexus. The Golden Nexus is a small zone in which you are surrounded in a circle by Mausoleums with golden doors and symbols that are opened by lighting the lanterns that are found all over the map and when lit with a lighter (by pressing right click when held up to the lantern) will open up the teleporter door with the corresponding Symbol.

(Example of different Tesseracts and where you get teleported when using them pictured here: Blue for last bed slept in, Green for Safe Base, Red for random Dungeon, Purple for pure random location, and Golden which teleports you to the Golden Nexus.

BEFORE USING A GOLDEN TESSERACT!!! I strongly recommend getting the Regression Matrix (picture below) an artifact that lets you set a teleport point down anywhere and the ability to return to that specific point at any time at the cost of some Ether. Golden Tesseracts are only one use but using the Regression Matrix inside the Golden Nexus allows you to access the Golden Nexus (map wide teleporter network) at any time for a little bit of Ether, turning the Regression Matrix into essentially an infinite Golden Tesseract. You can get a "free" Regression Matrix by opening up the locked room in Revolutions base and telling Mama Roach about the vault once you do. One last thing the Golden Nexus has several gold coins through out and will reward you with a random golden loot item such a cat statue or candleabra for each lantern lit/teleporter door opened.

Click the cabin of the trolley train car in the basement if you want to access the secret shortcut.

@Saigaiii Yhe 3 Mausoleums left in the Golden Nexus are not yet implemented yet as far as I'm aware. 2 of them do not have correlated symbols and the one that does have a symbol has no door or lantern at the top indicating you can activate it. Do let me know if you find any lanterns not in this guide and their location and I will update it as soon as possible.

Just found an Arti in the black lake more towards the boat further out, its a pale bone! it stops mud fish from chewing you to bones while in the water! Be sure to snag it if you want the Golden Tesseract!

I can confirm that a 3rd Golden Tesseract can be found in Black Lake. On the lakebed, look for an archway buried in the mud, the Tesseract is in the middle. Or better yet, use a scanner while treading water to find it. Mind the fish, though!

@Tombot I'm pretty sure a Golden Tesseract is guaranteed in one of the warehouses in the military base in Dead Bridge, I believe you can also find another one in The Exchange (you get there by sniffing stardust) In a ship with a big hole in it.

What I'm struggling with at the moment is finding a golden tesseract. I've already looked in a few places and I have yet to find anybody willing to trade for one. I did however manage to find a regression matrix on top of one of the machines inside of the room where the scientist robot wanted me to deliver the generator block thing, I don't know if it will be there for everyone.

The Basement in the Revolution Base opens when your standing is high enaugh. IDK what standing specifically, might be 1000 and up (when it says HERD)
