Part 2---At the end of it though no mod dev would be able to get far because few are able to afford how expensive it is to get a lawsuit started plus it would open themselves up to lawsuits from the actual dev if they really wanted to since then they (the mod dev bringing suit) would be profiting from their work, since that starts a ring of lawsuits etc judges typically throw it out before anything happens plus the fact they dont technically own it and the one who brought the suit is out of pocket for thousands nvm the travel expenses since lawsuits like this must be done in the jurisdiction of where the "offender" lives, I.E if you live in Texas but the mod dev lives in japan they must travel to Texas to file or if they live in Maine they have to goto TX, as that is where the "Crime" occurred. US law is weird lol.

@eglove gotta be that guy but speaking on a technical aspect of CP law mods can be under a type of license (assuming the author actual used the correct one) and that falls under CP law but they would have to be able to afford it in the first place but also prove how they are losing money from the one they are claiming is stealing their stuff/work (Atleast in the US) However, by default (again for US law) the devs (assuming they did not sell the rights to the game to someone else) have ownership over any mod made due to the fact the mod is using their assets and code etc, which means they could should they want to just grab whatever mod is most popular and actually fixes things they didnt want to fix etc and put it in game without having to credit or pay the mod author and act like they did it themselves (A few big game devs have done this before) it is a good way to kill off the mod scene though but it is legal atleast in the US, I cant speak for the rest of the world.

Exciting things, really hope this game blasts off on mods like RimWorld and every Bethesda game ever did.

Yee, were are just porting over what we had on nexus, mostly how it was, with a few tweaks now that we can visually see how the changes impact things, to better fine-tune it. (the "limit" for bed slots, is ~20, before it gets.. unmanageable for instance)

The group fast travel one from Cosmic is hilarious. There's already 5 version of that mod. All slightly different, I happen to like one made by neither of you.

Last game I modded was Schedule I, thanks to Harmony you can decorator any even in the game and do whatever you want in 1 line of code.

The thought of people thinking these kinds of thing, or any mod really has some sort of "copyright" is hilarious. And I'm having a fun time giving him a hard time.

There are reasons for why we made these changes. The first of which being the in game UI doesnt like going beyond a certain point. It literally cannot handle that many slots. You are welcome to create whatever you want. Despite what Cosmic will try and claim, we dont care if people make similar, or hell even the same, mods. The only reason we give him a hard time, is he says to be original, and not use other peoples ideas/mods, yet took a few of the things from our modding discord/nexus, remade them, and slapped a disclaimer on them claiming some sort of copyright, as if we dint make those exact mods, a year and a half before he even showed up.

Just promise not the copyright sue me with AI generated slop if I decide to bring x5 to Steam, like some other modders seem to think is a thing.
