Getting Started
TLDR
Fill a tank with eggs, growth potion them, breed them, sell the adults, and repeat. Breeding before selling gives more money.
If you take one thing from this guide: The more you breed, the more profitable you will be.

So you wanna be fish farmer?
Every good business has an initial investment. To get started, you need at least $10k to buy the required eggs and growth potion. Also, I highly recommend using a tank that is upgraded to max capacity, 30 for now, as this will speed up the whole process and save you money since you can grow more fish with one potion. This guide will assume you are using a max capacity tank.
The Main Plan
  • Buy 28 eggs and a small growth potion (2 potions if using rare eggs)
  • Hatch the eggs and use the growth potion
  • Breed 2 of the fish, then sell them right away
  • Repeat this until your tank is only baby fish
  • With only baby fish, you now repeat the process; refill the tank leaving 1 or 2 empty spots and potion them, breed and sell the adults, repeat

This is the most consistent and efficient way to make money (and exp) in this game.

This process can be done with common, uncommon, and rare eggs. Uncommon and rare eggs give a higher profit than common eggs but are more expensive to start with due to egg price, as well as needing 2 small growth potions for rare baby fish.

This is profitable regardless of hot fish and your luck at hatching uniques.

If you're new, I recommend saving your uniques so you can get a passive income, unless you really need the cash or tank space, then sell.
The Basic Plan
  • Buy 30 common eggs and a growth potion
  • Fill your tank with common eggs and growth potion them
  • Sell them all
  • Repeat
I only recommend this if the Hot Fish of the Week is common
You will not make profit doing this with higher rarity eggs, even with hot fish.

Pros: Fast, good exp
Cons: Money is entirely reliant on uniques or hot fish. I do not recommend doing this for money if hot fish is not common.
EXP
Common eggs give 25 exp/hatch, uncommons give 50, and rares give 75.

If you are just here for exp, you are best off using the main plan with rare eggs. However, if the Hot Fish is common, the basic plan is also quite fast and efficient if you don't want to breed.
Other Stuff
Other Important Info:
  • I didn't talk about legendary eggs because they cost way too much to be profitable and the amount of potions you need is not sustainable.

  • This is also probably the most reliable way to fill out a unique fishdex, at least for common - rare eggs.

  • Keep an eye on the Hot Fish of the Week; if the Hot Fish is common the basic plan will be profitable. If it's uncommon or rare, just do the main plan. If it's exotic then check out iMyth's guide.

Current hot fish is goldfish at 250%. I figured this plan out by stocking a max-level tank with common eggs, migrating all the goldies to a second breeding tank until I had 29/30 (while selling all the egg tank's non-goldfish adults) then breeding all my goldies and selling the bred adults. I went from 20k from my daily fish gains, to being a damn half-a-millionaire. And it's only day 2/7 of the Goldfish scheme.

Came to the guides to write up this epic strategy and boom you've already got it. LOL

current fish of the week is uncommon but its not obtainable from the uncommon eggs i think, it kinda sucks

Your tank should never really be full of baby fish. Once you hatch the first 28 and breed them, you will get around 14 babies back, maybe a couple more. You then buy eggs to get back to 28 and restart the process. Each time you breed you are basically buying one less egg to refill your tank.

i dont get the baby part. my babies eventually be an adult, my tank never fills with all baby fish. do i carry the baibes to another tank?

You can sell them as soon as they are not babies, I don't think adult age effects sell price (even if it does, its not enough to matter for this farm). If you're doing the main plan, then I sell the two parents as soon as they are done breeding. If you're doing the basic plan, then use the fish menu to sell them all after the growth potion makes them adult.

Just wanna ask when do i sell a fish? cause i also see theres adult age too and so on

The hot fish will change soon and the basic plan will become much much less efficient if the hot fish is not common again. Also, doing the advanced method with rare eggs seems to be the most efficient method at the moment, however this has a higher initial cost to start.
