The Complex: Interlude

Description
UPDATES:

September 19th - 2025:
MASSIVE UPDATE. I added whole new sections and areas, causing the map to almost double in size! Lots of new liminal spaces and vibes. OH, NOT TO MENTION FULL ULTRA-WIDE SUPPORT FOR 21:9 RATIOS!! Some bug fixes were also completed too!

July 7th - 2025:
Moved UI buttons to fit in frame for ultra-wide monitors. (Please let me know if the issue persists!)
Edit: It persists. I will get this fixed as soon as I can visit a guy I know with an ultra-wide monitor.

June 27th - 2025:
New saving system implemented, along with UI fixes and some optimization. (If you have an ultra-wide monitor, lemme know if the issue has been resolved!) I hope ya'll have a great rest of your day :)

YOU ARE LOST IN A PLACE STUCK OUTSIDE REALITY

In the midst of a cataclysmic event, you suddenly find yourself tripping into what appears to be an underground living space. When you start to realize you’re not underground at all, that’s when you are able to put the clues together… and figure out that something is worse than the bombs falling from above.

This mod is kinda like a game-within-a-game.
Gameplay is composed of locating proximity cards throughout an extremely expansive map that encompasses all directions, with many locations ,styles, and immersive illusions. A story and history of the complex’s purpose and downfall can be pieced together from photographs and paper logs scattered about the map.

Over many, many months I have worked on this project and I am so glad to finally make it available!

Ever since I discovered the concept of the Backrooms in early 2020, I fell in love with the idea of liminal spaces as a whole. Although the Backrooms and related media can be made to appear scary and gloomy, I also try to grasp that ethereal sense of wonder and curiosity which can also be associated with liminal spaces. Not to mention the gentle flicks of nostalgia they can produce!

I sincerely hope you enjoy :D

Thank you for the kind words! And yes, that’s why I didn’t include entities: I really wanted it to be more subliminal and imaginative, and for the player to be truly alone. And yes, The name is also really good! :)))

I like the name "The Complex" but, another good name could be "The Splice" for like a splice across our reality. (Just a suggestion. I like the name "The Complex" anyways.)
