Description
Because I hate the EZ Ground Scanner.
Mod does not automatically activate by default, see convars/commands for details.
No longer must you be a nerd with a ground scanner, now you can stare at rocks like the cool kids do.
This mod spawns things like rocks above ore deposits and trees above water deposits.
It also adds an entirely new resource; clay.


CONTENTS:
Experimental features are off by default.

Random chance to spawn around naturally spawned trees. Fully grown on spawn.

Random chance to spawn over water deposits. Fully grown on spawn.

Flowers
New EZ crop. Random chance to spawn over water deposits. Fully grown on spawn.

Oil Fissures
Spawns over oil deposits underwater.
Yes.
Antlion Mounds
Spawns over geothermal deposits. Spawns antlions when players/npcs approach. Can be blown up.

CONVARS/COMMANDS:
(Sorry for terrible console command formatting, I don't feel like turning it into a table rn)
  • jmod_environmental_mult_scatter --The multiplier for object distance/scatter. Setting this to anything higher than 1 will break things.
  • jmod_environmental_mult_amount --The multiplier for object amount, best to keep this at 1.
  • jmod_environmental_mult_treeamount --The multiplier for tree amount, best to keep this at 1. Trees use scatter mult for scattering.
  • jmod_environmental_experimental_auto --Automatically generates the objects when set to 1.
  • jmod_environmental_experimental_oilfissures --Generates underwater oil fissures when set to 1.
  • jmod_environmental_experimental_antlionmounds_max --Max number of antlion mounds that can be generated.
  • jmod_environmental_experimental_disabletreedrops --Disables trees from dropping acorns / apples. Applies to player grown trees.
  • jmod_environmental_crop_corn_chance --Chance (out of 100) that corn will spawn around a tree.
  • jmod_environmental_crop_corn_mult --Multiplier for the amount of corn that spawns.
  • jmod_environmental_crop_wheat_chance--Chance (out of 100) that wheat will spawn on a water deposit.
  • jmod_environmental_crop_wheat_mult --Multiplier for the amount of wheat that spawns
  • jmod_environmental_crop_flower_chance --Chance (out of 100) that flowers will spawn on a water deposit
  • jmod_environmental_crop_flower_mult --Multiplier for the amount of flowers that spawns.
  • jmod_environmental_generate --Generates the objects.

KNOWN BUGS:
Auto generation is a mess.
A handful of antlion mound related issues.
Wheat attaches to other instances of wheat, trees, and other things when spawning.
Clay has to be called "Clay ore" because JMod's machine code is terrible.
Clay might just not work idk man.
Clay currently does not have a rock/object that spawns on top of deposits to indicate it's there. I will probably add such a thing later.

I have no idea. Honestly I probably should just add a feature that auto-hydrates world spawned plants at some point.

JMod crops already detect and utilize underground water deposits. They just don't absorb enough water from them.

this is a super good mod
the only thing else i'd like is that if a plant is above a underground water source should be watered/grow
