Description
For a long time now, I’ve wondered about why Stellaris doesn’t have a good option for starting on Alpha Centuri instead of Earth.
So I went and made a mod for it.
And then life happened, and I kind of forgot to publish the mod.
For four years.
Anyway, here it is now.

This mod adds five different version of Alpha Centuri as possible starting system, including ones where Earth is a tomb world, and one where Earth is extremely young (Pre-Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event). Each version has unique anomalies, which change if you’re using the Human portrait. Additionally, there are alternate starting systems where you start on the planet orbiting Proxima Centurari.

This is still somewhat unfinished- I’d like to add a couple different variations to the story of how Earth perished.

@RutraNickers - thank you! I'll double-check before implementing, which may take a while (a relative is in hospital due to mouth cancer, due to chewing tobaco, and not in good shape) but I'll get to it as quickly as I can.

Sorry for commenting again, but I found a solution for the bug below: it was caused by using "ideal_design_class" on the playable planet in the solar system files. I changed it to "random_non_colonizable" and it worked flawlesly. Tomb Worlds aren't an ideal class type when creating an empire, so it will never get picked at game start. I've tested with am origin that doesn't change the starting planet class and it still started me with my chosen class, no problem.

I found a bug: when you choose the Post-Apocalyptic Origin, the starting planet isn't a Tomb World.

Loved the mod! Could you add a version where Earth has Primitive humans? Would be funny to do a War of The Worlds invasion.

one suggestion for tomb world, it looks like the planet was set to be destroyed as if to make way for some sort of inter galactic construction project then just abandoned

@MartianLeo - This mod has no custom interactions, but I believe the base game has some custom interactions for 'oh, these are other humans'.

@Athena - right now, the base game doesn't have the support for that. I only added UNE by hard-coding (and that is a LOT of work. Fortunately, in the case of the UNE, I could just copy it from stock XD )
