Chimera Combine

One day while drawing some textures I figured, "why don't I make a Combine Soldier Reskin that combines all of their designs from different development periods?"

Hence the name "Chimera", and from that thought, this mod was born.

This mod reskins all of the Combine Soldier types to resemble a mix of retail textures, concept art, and bits and pieces from the 2003 leak Combine texture. Perfect for a concept art collection or something beta styled.

List of changes include the side pockets, eyes, camo pattern and helmet from the 2003 texture sheet, insignias and designs from concept art, removed front pockets and the base texture sheet of the retail soldiers.

Included in this are as follows:

Standard Soldier

Shotgun Soldier

Prison Guard (+ Shotgun variant!)

Elite Soldier

Stripped Soldier

Zombine

Credits

Valve, for the original textures.

Soutrim, for bits and peices of the alpha channel as well as .vmt code I referenced when working on the soldiers eyes, alpha channels, and other bits.

Me, for the edits and everything else.

talking about metrocop reskins, i don't think i've ever seen someone reskin rebels to have the same texture for their stolen metrocops vest. that's an idea you can try if you feel like it

these were HEAVILY based off of WishesForFishes concept art soldier models, these are pretty much a hl2-styled version of those models lol

this might just be my favorite concept art soldier pack. all the variants just make sense, even the prison guards are awesome. good work

Right, I wanted to suggested an alternate version that retains the glowing eyes of the soldiers' helmets, if that's not in your interested to do then I thought of replacing the regular soldier insignia of the Elite with the 314 insignia, to further differentiate between them and possibly add the numbers 17 insignia to the right arm for extra flair, I hope it isn't too much to ask for
