Alternative "Tree of Life" - Origin

Description
Content and Versions:

Game-Version: 4.0.*
Mod-Version: 2.1.2
For change-log see changes-tab!

This Mod adds:

"Alternative Tree of Life" - Origin:
  • It's basically the same as the original, just for non-hive minds.
  • The original origin remains unchanged.

"Immersive Tree of Life" - Origin:
  • This version of the Origin is similar to the alternative version, but it offers more gameplay with the Tree of Life.
  • It's now possible to add better protection for the Lifetree and its offspring. But trust me, you really don't want to lose your Hometree with this version!
  • New Building, new Technologies, new Decision, new Modifiers for Planets!
  • New Events (currently 4: three smaller and a bigger one; there might be more in the future!), bringing new life to the Tree of Life - Concept!
(Please write a comment if there are serious problems!)

See screenshots for some examples!

Description:

I was always annoyed by the fact that the 'Tree of Life' - Origin was only available to hive minds. After failing to find a mod for it in the Workshop, I decided to give it a shot and created my own version, which is independent of the original. This means that the original Origin can still be used. You no longer need to rewrite the base game files after every update like I did!

This mod adds an "Alternative 'Tree of Life'-Origin" to the game, enabling you to play with non-hive mind empires. I have sometimes changed the names a bit, but nothing is completely different to how it used to be. All texts containing "hive" or "hive mind" have been rewritten so that they don't seem strange when used with a non-hive mind empire.

The new "Immersive Tree of Life" with deeper gameplay is now playable. Try it out and let me know what you think so I can improve it!

Please note that all core functions are working as they should, but there is a visual issues that I haven't been able to resolve yet. This means that you won't see all the holding's effects directly; you will only see them after hovering with the mouse over the holding. I will perhaps look into it in the future, but for now it's definitely playable without any problems!

(Originally I created this mod for my friends and myself, but then I decided to make it available to anyone who might be interested as well. This is my first mod, so please don't expect something ultra professional without any issues.)

Plans for the future:

I consider the new "Immersive" - Origin to be basically complete, though I may add additional content in the future. I'm taking a break now (currently not playing Stellaris), but this mod is probably not finished yet, as there are still many more ideas for the "Tree of Life" - Origin.

Here are some ideas that I have collected that I might do in the future (maybe, really!):
  • "Tree of Life" and "Wilderness" - Combination
  • Start empire with an offspring of a Great Tree from another world
  • Dying Tree of Life - Origin

(I'm still open for more ideas, but don't expect that I will definitely realize them!)

Compatibility:

I have almost completely recreated the original with its own files, without touching the vanilla ones, which should make it compatible with most mods. I tested this mod with one of my own modpacks (currently containing more than 50 mods, the "UI Overhaul Dynamic" and "Gigastructural Engineering & More" - Mod included) and it worked without any problems, except that edits to the original "Tree of Life" by other mods are of course not working. For example, the "Planetary Diversity" - Mod: The planetary decision 'Transplant Tree of Life sapling' won't take longer to finish on special planets.

If you find an incompatible mod, please let me know so that I can either fix it or document the issue here.

The tree picture was made with AI [obvious, I guess ;)].

If you would like to use this mod for your own creations or fix the issues, please inform me of your plans, that would be nice! Thank you :)

Well... I'll give it a try once the developers have finished making their changes and the open beta of "Wilderness" - Origin is over. But I won't make any promises.

I would love the Tree of Life + Wilderness origin. Imagine playing as the Tree itself spreading across the Galaxy. Almost worth it's own mod with updated "tree-like" wilderness building sprites and all.

Thank you for sharing this bug! I forgot something and tried it just for a short time with an already created savefile, but now it should be fixed.

Bug report, the new aggressive flora event is not giving the research option to research its respective tech
plus, is it supposed to fire at the same time as the alien biosphere event?

it seems you did fix it not crashing now

It would be helpful to have a list. Does your game crash right after you load or create a game, or does this happen later?
I just published an update in which I implemented some ideas to make it more compatible with other large mods. Please try using it with your modpack again!

it is not crashing the game on its own I have check to see what mod it could be and can't seem to get it to happen with my bigger mods I am not sure what mod it is right now I have checked a few of my mods to see but have not found out which one it is I can give you a list of them if you want it

No worries, I quite literally got the idea after having to fight two existential wars against a devouring swarm and fanatical purifiers
