US Forces - Secret War, Laos

NOTE: THIS FACTION REPLACES MY EARLIER 'Royal Lao Army - Laotian Civil War (OBSOLETE)' FACTION. IT INCLUDED US FORCES AND I WANTED TO SPLIT THEM INTO DIFFERENT MODS. DO NOT USE TOGETHER AS THEY SHARE THE SAME CLASSNAMES. USE THIS ONE INSTEAD.

This is a small infantry faction made using SOG Prairie Fire, US General Equipment & Accessories, Laffing Lizard in the Bush and S&S assets. I really wanted to utilise the excellentcamouflage from Laffing Lizard to depict US forces invloved in the Secret War in Laos in the 1970s. I have tried to base the faction addon on research but in the end went a bit off piste making all kinds of Special Forces units, CIA pilots and CIA paramilitaries to depict the wider war in Laos. Where the units are based on research i have used several Osprey Miltary books depicting these units. However i have added certain 'fantasy' elements to make use of some of the cool S&S and US General Equipment & Accessories and Laffing Lizard uniforms!

I used ALIVE's ORBAT creator to make the factions so you cannot override the units' loadouts unlesss you have ALIVE loaded. I don't know how to get around this i'm afraid. You can still add items and change gear once the mission starts through Arsenal/boxes etc.

You'll find the following groups in the mod under 'US Forces - Secret War Laos':

SpecOps:
US Special Forces (1972)
- US Special Forces Project 404 Advisory Team
- US Special Forces Project 404 Field Team

US Special Forces (Generic 1970)
- USSF Platoon, Operator Teams, Demolitions Team, Sniper Team, Heavy Team

US CIA
US CIA Paramiitaries (1970)
- US CIA Paramilitary Group, Operator Teams, Demolition Team, Sniper Team
- US CIA Field Agent Team

There are also some unarmed and duty CIA agents, CIA Air America helicopters and crew included.

Have you thought about making a substitute MACV faction using the S&S equipment? Essentially being revamps of the main Raleigh and Columbia teams
