I always enjoy playing Project Zomboid.

Knox County is not just realistic—it’s also full of quirky culture and inside jokes.
Every time I play, I find myself thinking, “I wish I could visit this place for real someday.”
And above all, there’s that almost-worshipped raccoon mascot...
Is it something like “Hatsune Miku” or “2B” for Americans?

...There’s one more in-game cultural curiosity I’ve always wondered about:
the legendary magazine called “HottieZ.”
To be honest, I never quite understood what it meant.
We don’t have magazines like this in my home country.

So, I asked my American friend to explain.
She said:

“It’s the kind of thing that makes you happy! For a Japanese person,
let’s just say it’s an item you might use late at night.”

...I’m not sure I totally get it,
but apparently, it works best right before bed.

This mod is my attempt to faithfully—and carefully—bring that “HottieZ effect” into the game,
with as much cultural respect as possible!

If you fall asleep with HottieZ nearby,
will you have sweet dreams? Or… something else?

== About This Mod ==


SleepTime Expansion adds a bit of “sleep quality” and humor to Project Zomboid.

■ Get a sleep buff when holding or placing HottieZ nearby!

While sleeping, boredom, unhappiness, and stress all drop automatically.

Fatigue recovery (sleep speed) is slightly slower—because, you know, you’re busy.

■ One of four environment sounds plays at random when you go to sleep!

Collapsing onto the futon (“Good night!”)

Flipping through HottieZ (“Reading before bed is relaxing, right?”)

Stirring natto (“Maybe that’s a midnight snack?”)

A sigh (“We all have those nights sometimes…”)

Add custom sleep animations (I want to, but it’s technically challenging!)

Add more environment sounds (Got ideas? Let me know!)

いつもProject Zomboidを楽しくプレイしています。

ノックス市はリアルさもさることながら、未知の文化やジョークにあふれていて、
プレイするたび「いつか本当に行ってみたい」と思わせてくれます。
そして何より、あの崇拝されているアライグマ……。
日本でいう“初音ミク”や“2B”のような存在なのでしょうか？


……そして、他にも文化的に気になるアイテムがあります。
その名も「HottieZ」
正直に言うと、その意味を深く理解できていません。
母国にはそのようなタイトルの雑誌がないのです。


そこで、意味を正しく理解するためにアメリカ在住の友人に尋ねてみました。
すると彼女はこう答えました。

「ハッピーになれるやつだよ。特に日本人の君には夜中に使うようなアイテムと言った方が分かりやすいかな。」


……なるほど。よく分かりませんが、寝る前に使うと効果が高いそうです。

このMODでは、それを“忠実かつ文化的に丁寧”に再現する事を心掛けました。

プレイヤーは寝ている間にHottieZが近くにある事で、

いい夢でも見ているのでしょうか？それとも...？


==MOD概要==

SleepTimeExpansionはProjectZomboidに
“睡眠の質”とユーモアをプラスする拡張MODです。

■HottieZ所持 or 周囲に配置で睡眠バフ発動！

　→ 寝ている間、退屈・不幸・ストレスが自動で低下。

　→ 睡眠時間（Fatigue回復速度）が少しゆっくりになる。

■睡眠開始時に4種類の環境音をランダム再生！

　→布団に倒れ込む音(おやすみなさい)

　→HottieZをめくる音(寝る前の読書は癒されます)

　→納豆をかき混ぜる音(きっと夜食を食べる音でしょう)

　→ため息(疲れた日にはそういう事もあります。)


==今後のアップデートについて(気が向いたら)==

・専用モーションの追加(やる気はありますが技術的な面で未知数)

・専用環境音の増加等(なにかアイデアがあればお気軽に)

・MODオプションの追加
バフ、デバフの調整機能、環境音の設定等。
