F-6 Falcata Interceptor

The F-6 Falcata is the standard short range interceptor of the Terran Alliance Space Command (TASC). The F-6 is utilized as a combat air patrol craft, protecting ships, stations, and settlements from hostile fighters and bombers, and performing a light scout role in its local areas. Its LightCruise engine is primarily utilized in a tactical function, allowing it to maneuver in a battlespace with ease. Otherwise, its LightCruise exceedingly slow compared to larger fighter craft. It's standard thrust and anti-shield firepower is where the F-6 truly shines. The Falcata presents a small target to harass hostile opponents and whittle down their defenses, or eliminate them entirely. The F-6 is meant to maintain its distance from larger vessels with significant point defense systems and work in pairs, at a minimum.
