F-6 Falcata Interceptor

The F-6 Falcata was once the standard interceptor of the Terran Alliance Space Command (TASC). Following the development and deployment of the F- 7 Spatha, the Falcata was slowly but steadily relegated to planetary defense militias, sold off to corporate security forces, and even turned into civilian recreational sport craft. Where still deployed in force, the F-6 is utilized as a combat patrol craft, protecting ships, stations, and settlements from hostile fighters and bombers, and performing a light scout role in its local areas. Its LightCruise engine is primarily utilized in a tactical function, allowing it to maneuver across a battlespace with ease. It is not used for strategic maneuvers, due to how exceedingly slow its LightCruise can be compared to larger craft. It has no warp capability, and is primarily carrier or station based. Its standard thrust and small size is where the F-6 truly shines, as it is fast and maneuverable. The Falcata presents a small target to harass hostile opponents while whittling down their defenses, eventually eliminating them entirely. The F-6 is meant to be affordable to deploy en masse, overwhelming hostiles who approach their home territory.
