This mod is a vanilla-friendly expansion of the lactation feature from Biotech.

An overview of the content added by this mod

The amount of milk extracted, nutrition wise, is proportional with base Biotech balance. It also scales with body size.



Broodmother does not work on men by default but this can be changed in the mod's settings.

Additional mod integrations
Alongside full integration with Biotech, the Lactation Expansion also has built-in integrations with some other mods.
  • Vanilla Cooking Expanded
Breast milk can be used to make a new kind of cheese.
  • Alpha Crafts
Most dairy products can now be made with breast milk.

I'm open to suggestions on more mod integration content.

What's different, compared to similar mods?
This mod...
  • Works with the lactation hediff from Biotech instead of adding a new milk generation system.
  • Is designed with vanilla balance in mind.
  • Is relatively lightweight.

Another update, yes. I've shown this mod a lot of love today.
Changelogs:

Tweaked the icon of the wet nurse gene, a flaw with it was annoying me to no end.
Most dairy products from Alpha Crafts can now be made with breast milk.

You're just in luck, because a new update for the Lactation Expansion is now out!
Changelogs:

Added new textures for the wet nurse gene.
Added a new gene called 'milky' which doubles milk production.
Added new mod settings for applying a multiplier to milk produced by pawns.
Added a mod icon.

@Quilava mayhaps :Ib_TheLadyinRed: I am currently working on other stuff but I may add some genes to increase milk yields if I can make some time soon

You are right, just tested and it seen the other mod overwrite this mod, i like this one more tho, it more simple to use

Still, do you have plane to expand the mod? Maybe more Genes to boost the quantity/quality or decrease time to produce would be nice :cool_seagull: , cow still give more nutrient than what it consume, until we beat that number, this is just ... authentic mod :steammocking:
