TCU-RV1 Nomad

Description
TCU-RV1 “Nomad” Operator's Manual (Rev C)
Issued by: Triton Colonial Utility – Vehicle Systems Division
Unit Designation: TCU-RV1 "Nomad"

Section 1: Vehicle Overview
The TCU-RV1 “Nomad” is a rugged, multi-role cargo and exploration platform designed for long-range surface operations in extreme planetary environments. Its modular flatbed, enclosed cabin, and self-contained power systems make it suitable for:
- Hauling ore, equipment, or regrets
- Navigating uncertain terrain with minor “unplanned ballistic events”
- Supporting long-range expeditions beyond fixed infrastructure

Section 2: Vehicle Access and Cabin Layout

Cabin is equipped with:
Dual cockpit controls (Primary drive controls on right hand side in accordance with Intergalacic regulations, see Section 8 for alternative configurations)
LCD system displays for cargo, power, and image display (Note system is not authorised to receive television broadcasts)
Integrated engineer caffeine delivery system (certified to Tier 2 Thermal Compliance)
High-efficiency heating array suitable for polar operations
Tool and weapon rack with colony-authorized presets
First aid kit + refill station block for on-the-go medical and suit resupply
Features 2 timers, two event controllers, and a programmable block built in and free for customisation

Section 3: Operational Hotkeys

[1] – Headlights On/Off
[2] – Left Mirror Light - View
[3] – Right Mirror Light - View
[4] – Ore Detector On/Off
[5] – Gyroscopic Stabiliser On/Off
[6] – H2/O2 Generator On/Off
[7] – Connector: Switch Lock
[8] – Media Player Toggle *1
[9] –

*1 Driver maintains full musical authority under colonial Law.

Section 4: Cargo and Refueling
Total cargo capacity: ~80,000 Ore Units (varies with terrain requirements and pilot optimism)
Rear mag plates allow for modular cargo deployment. A mag plate is not a universal docking solution.
Fuel access via side connector. Always ensure Fuel connector is locked before dispensing fuel.

Section 5: Safety Guidance:

Seatbelts are fitted for user safety
Maintain under 30 m/s for optimal stability. Over 40 m/s may result in localised periods of unplanned ballistic events.
Braking performance is inversely proportional to panic.
Fueling while vehicle is powered may result in casual ignition.
Overloading beyond mass rating voids structural warranty, moral support, and sympathy.

Section 6: Maintenance Notes:

Oil should be replaced every 40,000 miles. Coffee beans should be replaced after every use.
Inspect underside armor plates after each mission.
Recharge backup battery weekly or following “extended nap mode.”
Ensure wheels are inflated to 40 Psi. Failure to do so may result in suddent appreciation for gravity.

Section 7: Legal Disclaimers:

Refill station will not replace lost bodily fluids. If you have medical concerns please contact your primary care physician

Warranty voided by aerial activity, underwater travel, or illegal wheelies.
Cabin espresso pressure must remain under 250 PSI (no exceptions).
Refilling the co-pilot’s coffee machine with antifreeze is a documented violation.
The cabin heating system is a closed-loop thermal unit, and cannot be drained. Use for warming rations or preparation of alien carcass for consumption is strongly discouraged and may lead to damage of the system and flavour contamination.

Section 8: Optional Extras:

* 'Freedom' Configuration: * + 500,000 Credits

For operators preferring an alternate control layout, the “Freedom Configuration” package includes:

* Left-hand drive cockpit
* Lifetime subscription to Redshift Radio
* Triple-redundant cup holders
* External flag mounting point (standardized for banners, warning pennants, or freedom)
* Expanded weapon rack (includes cowboy hat hook)
* Enhanced horn system (volume limiters removed)
* Suspension lift kit for "terrain domination"

Note: Freedom Configuration adds ~500kg to chassis mass and increases likelihood of accidental donuts.

Final Note
The TCU-RV1 "Nomad" is not just a vehicle — it’s a companion for long hauls, bad weather, and unexpected adventure.
Treat her with respect. Keep her fueled.
And never, ever trust the mirror lights to show you that snowbank in time.
