EK Passant Mk-I

Description
EK 'Passant' Mk-I
Surplus light corvette

"An old 2nd-gen Coalition corvette manufactured in large numbers, the 'Passant' class was regarded as fairly average in all aspects aside from it's reliability. Many would eventually be resold as surplus to independent outfits, some later going on to serve under the separatist navy. Due to the long life of these hulls, low maintenance cost, and ease of customization; many 'Passant' class vessels continue to be refurbished and retrofitted far beyond their age as low-cost commercial fleet units."

This submarine isn't specifically separatist themed, but it's pretty easy to imagine an old repurposed hull like this being pressed into conscript service either by the Europan Coalition, or Jovian Separatists.

I don't really have any specific plans for more submarines, feel free to suggest what kind of subs you are interested in seeing made. For example: should I bother making more industrial/cargo submarines like the Huxley, or a newer up-to-date carrier submarine, or maybe a submarine less campaign focused and more roleplay/traitors oriented?

-with the new DLC announcement, honestly expect releases of submarines to be more infrequent again as I don't have much motivation to invest in this game now.

( Also expect that potential "EK mods remaster" to not happen after all )

Another banger of a sub from EK! The Passant is very fast, sensibly and compactly laid out, and has a conspicuous but not huge flaw (the upper ductwork area, keeps the mechanics busy). The helm is a charming and lived in space, gun placement is great, what more could you ask for?

Like the Aboa, my only issue is the airlock. The docking port only opening when all other doors are closed seems to be standard EK design (Solace does it too), but it causes problems when that docking port is the only way into the ship. Unlike the Aboa there's a 2nd story airlock room so wiring a button in the crew quarters to the docking port is enough to fix the airlock issue but it could still use a redesign.

Otherwise a terrific ship, it'll be my default starter from now on. Great work!

The helm is very 60s office left to rot-ish! Amazing! The perfect jovian larp start ship! Thank you Mr. Videogames!

Really like those submarines you designed. Thanks for your work! Would you like to try something different from traditional submarines? Like S-611 Greyhound, a sub(moving station?) with two parts connected by a monorail which is really cool.

AI can get stuck in the ladder into the ductworks from the aft access shaft
They somehow can't open the door and just sit there in the ductworks forever, even if you try and grab them and force them out of it

been loving this sub for a general purpose cold caverns runner. i just wanted to ask what do all of the numbers mean on the display screens in the helm mean? ive gather orange on the top screen is battery life and the bottom number on the bottom display is current depth but i cant figure out the other 3. i thought maybe the red one at the top was reactor output but i dont think the numbers match up

Awesome submarine. Have you ever considered using the EK fusion reactor in a submarine? Idk much about it but no one seems to use it.
