This is the Docking Qualification #1 Rig. It's set up for a super easy first Docking. The Parachutes are on the Docking Pigeon so you gotta' catch it to get back down.
But no worries it's in an easy Orbit and you've got lots and lots of Fuel and Monopropellant.
There are Drains on the Fuel Tanks so you can lighten up the Craft for Reentry.
The Rig is delivered into Orbit VIA the "SHOCK-WAVE" High Altitude Delivery Vehicle.

The Docking Rig is designed to be super Docking friendly and was crafted to be easy to control. It has lots of Fuel & Monopropellant and both it and the Pigeon have enough Mass and Reaction Wheels and are stable enough to make Docking easy and FUN, and with the Rig it's repeatable so you can do it whenever you want some practice. If you're NOT blowing past the Pigeon and then kicking an Anti-Target Turn like some Hot-Dog after a couple of goes the FORCE is just not that strong in you.

To add more difficulty just mix up the fuel levels on the Separation Boosters.

Action Group #1 is a Launch Sequence/Program for the Qualification. To use it turn SAS and RCS to ON, and go Full Throttle, then use Action Group #1.
** The Launch Sequence is programmed for a launch from the Space Center (Sea Level). **

* DOCKING QUALIFICATION #1B > Docking on the Opposite side (PURPLE LANDING LIGHTS). *

> THE VALUE OF THE DOCKING RIG <
When you can haul ass up to the Pigeon and transition to Docking Mode and hold @ 150m, then dock ... you have just practiced Kill #1.
When you can zip past the Pigeon and kick an Anti-Target turn, then go Docking Mode and hold @ 250m, then Dock ... you have just practiced Kill #2.
When you dock with the Pigeon, then set a maneuver and dock with a Vessel already in orbit ... you have just practiced chasing down a runner.
