You're a Civvy.
You'll wake up in your bed, explore your 4th-floor apartment, meet some neighbours, and then head downstairs when you're bored.
Before you get off the 3rd floor, a combine soldier will enter on the ground floor. He's here to kill everyone.
You can't really save the first victim.
Maybe you can save some of the rest .... ?
but you will need to avoid that soldier until you have a weapon.
If he does see you, run and hide, after a short time he should resume his mission.
He's not there for just you. He wants to kill everyone he finds.
On the ground floor there is a combine force-field that you need the combine battery type item to disable it.
There are two of those items in the building, one is on the ground floor, another can be found by exploring on the way down.
Once past the force field, you will find a weapon and be presented with a choice...
Once you kill all the combines (3 total) then the exit door will open.
Very very soon after the exit door, the level runs out. There is no change to another level. That's it.

This is the first mod I've made for HL Alyx. Aaaand probably my last.

There is currently only one small map. It looks okaaaay but it's not super polished or anything.

I wanted to start the game with the scenario described above, and I got it to work just about well enough, but I have mixed feelings about how it's turned out, how much of a pain it was, and if I'm really going to love modding for Alyx.

The NPC's in HL Alyx are much harder to control than in Half Life 2. The standard citizens are particularly useless in Alyx (unless you have the time to model and code your own, which I do not).

The level does work now, and I do kinda like it, but it has been quite frustrating getting it to be reliable at all. And I am sure someone else will find a way to break it immediately as well, haha.

SO I don't think I will make a whole campaign for Alyx like I had originally planned, when I was excited after playing Alyx for the first time...

For my hobbyist modding activities, I think I'm probably better off going back to good ol' reliable Half Life 2 !

But anyway, here is what I made for Alyx, in case you enjoy it for 5 minutes!
