The Merops interceptor fighter airplane was constructed as an experiment to see if compact fighters could be efficient, the tests where successful and the Merops is serving along larger crafts, due the the limited range they are usually carried however. The Merops excels at intercepting strike aircraft and bombers and have one of the lowest costs for fuel and construction ever seen.

Trivia: Merops is the greek/latin name for the bee-eater bird, a small bird that eats bees and hornets, catching them mid flight.
