Voxel Loco 'DF' 11D

Introduction to R&D History：
The Dongfeng 11D high-speed passenger locomotive, a diesel locomotive successfully manufactured by Dalian Locomotive Works in 2000, was produced in two variants totaling five units. Four of these were freight models (DF8D type). These locomotives incorporated extensive imported foreign hardware, with their diesel engines being the 12V280ZJ type, improved with assistance from the Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) of the United States. During subsequent operational testing, the turbochargers of the diesel engines frequently experienced critical failures, leading to the permanent storage and scrapping of both the DF8D and DF11D models at Dalian Locomotive Works in 2003. However, after seven years, the diesel engines underwent further improvements. The DF8D model resumed limited production with three additional units following extensive modifications, while the DF11D model saw no further development.
