Constructed as the main combat vessel of the FPRN, the Aegis Class Destroyer is the most produced ship in the fleet. While not as well armed or armored as her sister class, the Xiphos. the Aegis Class makes up for this in sheer maneuverability. Owed mostly to her small size and light weight, the vessel could run rings around KI forces and almost keep pace with EXO designs. Her armor, while seeming unimpressive, could defend the ship from great amounts of firepower, granting her excellent survivability for her class. The Aegis also carried the single greatest volume of assault cannon firepower on any ship fielded by FPR, lending her well to close-in brawling, with her maneuverability letting her dodge incoming fire while her armor defended her against what did connect. Overall, she was an excellent combat ship that could rush down and destroy single targets to great effect, and she became the single most valuable ship in the FPRN

This ship was designed for use on the Prototype PVP server! It is fairly survival friendly minus its subgrid turrets. Its armament consists of 3 quad-barreled assault custom turrets, 2 triple-barreled PDC's, 4 assault turrets, and 2 static artillery. The vessel does use scripts, though they are not required for its operation. She has excellent upwards thrust, and is capable of 1g flight. Overall the Aegis is probably my single most effective non-meta combat ship, with her testing yielding great promise against ships of similar and even greater size. Additionally, the Vessel is Keen-Server friendly, as even with custom turrets she sits under 20k PCU!
