Description
Contact is a map set upon high cliffs overlooking a sweeping canyon vista in the Southwest. Upon the edge, a scraptown was built around a mysterious derelict hangar. Artists, hippies, and Ufologists slowly added to the town over the years while studying the stars in what many call “The Last Free Place.” – their motto? The truth is out there… and it may be just around the corner.


Gameplay
Contact is a Bomb Defusal Map with an unconventional layout allowing for fast rotation and dynamic teamplay.

A site sits in the middle.
B lays close to the left.
Mid sits on the outside of the map to the far right offering heavy tactical advantages for flanking the back of A site, or sneaking below A entirely through an Underpass to B. All while offering some unique trick jumps that encourage high risk, high reward gameplay.

Yea i didnt totally think it was mostly on your guys end as i dont remember the map ever having bad FPS issue like others from the contest but yes ever since this last CS update ive been having bad frames drops on regular maps as well. Hope Valve addresses/fixes this issue. Thank you for update tho man:steamthumbsup:

About the FPS, it's also a common observation on a lot of other maps. After the recent updates the FPS is dropping unnaturally. We will still optimise the map further because we haven't really done the optimisations related to dynamic shadows yet.

Just tried it with bots and it wasnt getting as low as when i played it in Mapcore but i was still getting 100+fps drops in some areas and it seems after the first round is played out the FPS gets worse. Its all over the place but even keeping a steady 300 fps seems hard on the map atm, still sometimes was dropping into 190-220fps by just running around.

Yea, that's why I was asking. Before this I never got any complaints about fps. Can you retry locally with bots?

i have a brand new PC where i cap FPS at 500 and am able to reach 400-450 fps on majority of maps in the game. As a guy who plays alot of workshop maps the FPS i got on Contact when playing it yesterday was the type of fps ive seem on maps when they first come out and are not optimized at all. I dont remember Contact having FPS issues so maybe its something with a recent Valve update but in the state it is at now no one in Mapcore wants to play it because of this FPS issue. Hope you are able to find out/fix whatever might be causing it.:steamthumbsup:

Played a game on here in Mapcore today and the map is basically unplayable as no one can get above 200 fps anywhere on the map most players had around 100-150. Please work on optimizing this map.
