GX - Drones

Description

Hello everyone!

This mod aims to add a little bit more spice for those who enjoy operating drones. The mod is a joint project between Turpin and myself, and I dare say this might just be the best one I released yet. The mod currently includes 4 new drones as well as compatibility with ACE to pickup/place drones inside your inventory for vanilla and CDLC drones.

If you are looking to add an extra touch of realism to your drones, check out Drone Signals by Turpin to restrict your connection ranges.

The MQ-8B Fire Scout by Northrop Grumman is our first large scale drone to be added to this mod. This initial variant is a Recon only variant and currently has no weapons. We are actively working on adding another variant that will also be able to deploy weapons systems. Please make sure to check out the vehicle garage for this one as it has parts that can be hidden as well as some benches that can be unhidden that allows it to carry up to two people. Bare in mind that the real variant did not have this feature, but we figured we would add it to give you all a bit more spice.

The Black Hornet 4 is a very small drone meant for short distance flight. Its ideal for flying through windows and checking out the interior of a building. The drone can be deployed through the vanilla drop and assemble system or ACE which gives you an additional option to deploy it via the equipment menu.

The Drone40 is a drone that is deployed via a 40mm grenade launcher. Its sports a Recon variant with a 360 capable turret, a HE version with a small explosive yield and a smoke variant. The drone can be deployed through a grenade launcher, via the vanilla drop and assemble system or ACE which gives you an additional option to deploy it via the equipment menu.

The Honeybadger is a UGV meant to destroy or disable vehicles by driving underneath them and detonating. The drone can be deployed through the vanilla drop and assemble system or ACE which gives you an additional option to deploy it via the equipment menu.

Alongside the new additions, compatibility has been added to all vanilla and CDLC drones to have inventory items that can be picked up and placed with our drone interact scripts. Say no more to big bulky backpacks with 0 inventory space.

We would also like to give a huge shout out to Lexx and the Reaction Forces CDLC for code inspiration, especially for the Drone40 part and how to deploy it.

@Panda, I've gone ahead and added this as an additional class with the benches already out, didn't want this as default. Will be in the next update!

@NEBC YT, will keep this in mind, the recon variant of honeybadger feels a little redundant however!

@A. Scott, I've had this in my backlog for a little while, though can't think of a good way to do it for placing when you have multiple variants of drones (I don't think having a keybind for each type of drone to place is smart either). Though I may look to add the pickup keybind and recharge binds in soon.

@mark de gamer, taken note of that and will investigate, hopefully have a fix for it in the next update.

is there a way to make one that comes with the bench on it? trying to use this in a lib for transport. I know u can put a bench on with ZEUS but if u could just make one with the bench on it from the start

hey if possible could we get a recon version of the honeybadger. And the little Helicopter to have a turret for recon. I think both of those are very unique assets, that would go a long way. Other than that, mod is amazing.

Could we possibley get a keybind to deploy and pick up for easy use

How do I connect to a drone with a UAT terminal? I've tried everything I could think of.

I've also noticed that during autonomous flight it tends to climb despite being given the order to stay at a certain altitude. This seems to happen with and without a player being on the bench
