Sturmpanzer 38(t) is a german self-propelled gun of WW2 period. As many other light SPG(s), was built on a Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) chassis, this was a no exception. It is armed with a powerful 15cm SlG 33B howitzer, and due to this armament machine "jumped back", and because of this it got nicknamed "Cricket";

[History]
[postimages.org]
During the Polish campaign the Wehrmacht suffered alot of logistical problems with towing howitzers to the infantry parts, since for its towing we're mostly used Opel Blitz, Sd.Kfz.10 and 11 in the best case, but because of those problems the first ideas of making self-propelled gun's on tank chassis we're born. In intermezzo after Polish campaign and occupation of Denmark and Norway, the Sturmpanzer I was born as first example of this type of vehicle. The idea of SPG was continious during the way, and after the start of Operation Barbarossa the towing problem became even bigger, since the harsh weather conditions during the October-November made most of logistics stuck, because of the raspitutsa most of trucks couldn't easily access to the needed place in time, either it'll take a way longer or the vehicle will stuck in mud.

The first Sturmpanzer 38(t)'s we're built in 1942 on BHM's Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) base, with the replacement of the turret with an fixed superstructure on top of vehicle, armed with 15cm SlG 33B. The later models used the CKD (M) version of the Panzerkampfwagen 38(t). Yet the first was built in 1942, but the massive production started only in early 1943 until march of 1945.
Sturmpanzer's 38(t) first battle experience was in Operation Citadel (Kursk battle), where they served as fire support for infantry. And after that was mostly used in Ostfront, but some still managed to fight in Western front, and atleast few we're captured, and one of those now is located in Aberdeen, but after 2010 was relocated into US Army Artillery museum in Oklahoma, being the only surviving example of the vehicle.

В теории - да, на деле тоже. В теории данная машина хотя-бы в единичном экземпляре да и на Донбассе во время наступлений РККА должна была бы быть
