Sensor Target Info

Description

This is a lightweight clientside mod that adds a simple HUD overlay for selected laser targets in the sensor custom info panel. It shows the current laser code and who the laser source is, giving pilots quick, clear situational awareness.

An example of the UI is shown below, giving the unit's name (and squad) and code used for the laser:

For those asking if this can be bundled directly into your unit's pack: yes, though it's not recommended. Since it’s fully clientside, there’s no need for every player to run it, and including extra scripts unnecessarily can impact performance.

Instead, I suggest treating it as an optional mod. Just add the included .bikey to your server's keys folder to allow clients to use it without any issues.

hi im the primary maintainer for ACE missileguidance; the laser code does work and does affect weapons, your weapon will only track the targeted code

Man, I'm kind of retarded, but this sounds pretty cool.

The ACE laser code doesn't do anything though, because a new laser lock feature is not in place, and the 1111 is just for aesthetics for now; I took a look at their GitHub and that is my understanding.

isn't ace open source? just out of curiosity couldn't you request to push this directly into ace? Awesome mod though!

The easiest way to use this would be to put the .Bikey into your server's keys folder so that people can just connect with it since it's clientside as mentioned above. Assuming the mod is signed.

What's the point of repacking anyway? Isn't it easier to just use a launcher preset

Genuinely we're only asking because we're a large combined arms unit and this would be insanely useful

ok, this is HUGE. would it be okay if our unit could repack this into our mod (with full credit)?
