ModestUI Variations

Description
*All HUD elements have been turned down to about 75% opacity in this version*

I loved the vanilla UI's artstyle but there were some areas I felt I could adjust to my personal tastes, this is the result. This version includes Minimal Compass, which strays slightly farther away from the vanilla feel but I enjoy it personally.

Features:

HUD
---
- Minimal Compass
- New attack indicators.
- HUD changes to make the bezels thinner and give an overall sleeker aesthetic while trying to maintain the original style as much as possible
- Removed the grey backdrop from buff status icons
- Slightly smaller buff status icons
- A smaller, semi transparent and desaturated main crosshair

UI
---
- New inventory appearance.
- Paper Scroll UI
- Removed the grey backdrop from save icons.

is there any way to turn down opacity even more? This mod itself is awesome for hardcore mode, giving a lot more immersion to the game, but I want to need to focus a bit to see these indicators, the way Henry would need to think about his status lol

@geeksonhugs thanks for the feedback! The inventory menu was a recent addition so I can definitely make a version of the pack that doesn't affect that :)

Generally works great in hardcore mode. The center dot is a bit hard to see in bright areas on Steam Deck. Also when selecting a game to load on Steam Deck the selected items background doesn't quite fully go behind the text. In other words the text goes off the edge ever so slightly.

Those aside I love everything about this mod except the brighter background on the inventory screens and the like. While it looks more sophisticated and polished i prefer the more old parchment like color of the original. It feels more medeival to me.

Thanks again!

@rancor definitely, I had a version of the compass without them but never released a UI pack with it as I didn't think anyone wanted it lmao

@dreaM^_ thx. i'll def use this mode when i start my play through. btw is there any way to get rid of the compass bar border [ ] altogether and leaving just the compass markers, i remember having mode like that in KCD 1. thx again. :104:

Thats actually a good idea ill have to look into that, and yeah they shouldn't be an issue either :) That being said if you notice anything wrong feel free to let me know, I won't be able to test out the new update myself until later tonight :)

kk cool...another thing I notice is this mod changes the combat indicators. The hardcore mode I think doesn't have combat indicators. My guess would be this should be fine as well, I just won't see either combat indicators.

BTW, I don't know how difficult it would be but I actually don't like the loss of the combat indicators in hardcore mode. That might be a useful mod if they can be turned back on for people who like the other aspects of hardcore mode but not that aspect.

In any case, thanks for your mods, I appreciate you!

Yes only one at a time :) based on how KCD2 runs mods it should technically be fine to run both (it should just run with whatever was last loaded rather than crash) but I obviously can't guarantee anything if you're running both

Also I see this INCLUDES minimal compass so I guess I should unsubscribe to the stand alone minimal compass mod.
