Eat Smart

Description
Eat Smart
Precisely control how much your character eats
This mod allows you to consume just the right amount of food to meet your hunger, calorie, or protein goals.

In OPTIONS > MODS, you can configure it to eat just what you need to reach:
  • 0% hunger
  • Custom hunger target
  • Calories needed to start gaining weight (based on current weight and metabolism traits)
  • Custom calorie target
  • Custom protein target (with a helper window explaining the thresholds for strength XP multiplier)

✅ Compatible with Builds 41 and 42.12+
✅ Can be enabled or disabled at any time (new or saved games)

Mod Versions (enable only one)

🍴 Eat Smart - Integrated
Adds the options directly into the vanilla "Eat" or "Open and Eat"context menu.
✔️ More convenient — ideal if you’re not using other mods that modify the context menu
✅ Safe hook (no vanilla overrides) for better compatibility (since build 42.12.0)
💡 If there are conflicts, try placing this mod above others in the load order
📌 If you're also using Drink Smart, place it below Eat Smart in the load order

🍽️ Eat Smart - Standard Submenu
Its advantages have been superseded by "Eat Smart - Integrated" since build 42.12.0 and it will likely be removed in the near future.
Adds a separate "Eat Smart" submenu at the bottom of the context menu.
✔️ Less prone to conflicts
✔️ Does not override vanilla functions

ESPAÑOL:

Eat Smart
Controla con precisión cuánto come tu superviviente

🍽️ Eat Smart - Standard Submenu
Sus ventajas han sido superadas por "Eat Smart - Integrated" desde la adaptación a la build 42.12.0 y probablemente sea eliminado en un futuro próximo.
Agrega un submenú independiente "Eat Smart" al final del menú contextual.
✔️ Menos propenso a conflictos
✔️ No sobrescribe funciones del juego base (vanilla)

@Alkanshel, yes, it will. "Auto Eat" doesn’t modify the inventory context menu; it runs on OnPlayerUpdate and only queues eat actions when you’re not already doing one. "Eat Smart" injects options into the vanilla “Eat” submenu ("Eat Smart - Integrated") or creates a new "Eat Smart" submenu ("Eat Smart -Standard Submenu"). You can use one of the "Eat Smart" submods and "Auto Eat" together.

Will this work with Auto Eat?

@Afyrmo thnx for the B42.12 compatibility update!

It drove me crazy trying to track down, among my 250 active mods, which one was suppressing the new features for marking items by “Unwanted” and “Unusable in Recipes”. Turned out it was this mod (the version before the Sep 28 @ 2:28am update), specifically the “EatSmartInt” submod.

After the update it works properly. You should really make it clearer that subscribers need to re-subscribe to get the new menu options and avoid conflicts with other mods.

@Cosmo, the version "Eat Smart - Integrated" is the first choice if you don´t have other mods that may be incompatible with this one. This version sets the Eat Smart submenu integrated in the vanilla "Eat" menu and is more convenient. If you have incompatibilities with other mods and the Integrated version, "Eat Smart - Standard Submenu" is less likely to cause such issues, as it establishes a standard submenu at the bottom of the context menu, separate from the original "Eat" submenu.

Hey @Afyrmo not really sure whats is the different between Eat Smart - Integrated and Eat Smart - Standard Submenu

@TiFied, I've been doing some testing, eating whole meals or just a portion of them, and everything seems to be working correctly, both with the goals achieved and the changes in hunger, calorie, and other attributes for the meals and the character.

Keep in mind that some foods do not reduce their weight when partially consumed, although they do reduce their total amount of hunger, calories, fat, etc.

I'd need more context to better address your issue. Is it happening with a specific type of food? Was the food you ate in your inventory or in another container? Maybe you're using a mod that could be affecting it, and it would be good to find out which one is.
