It's been very long since I made this or any other FTD mods so I may not remember clearly.
However, FTD does have its own built-in mod editor. I think I just created a new mod there and in some section like mesh replacements I made a new mesh replacement thing to replace CRAM pellets. FTD also has a modding guide that may help.

Apologies this is literally my first mod so I have no idea how to do that. (I tried but I just turned everything to wood)
Like I said in the description perhaps the best idea is to manually repaint them, hope this helps.
If you can pull that off, any chance you can do that with the plasma parts too, specifically the generators? Their models are crazy complicated and I believe have a similar problem.
