Nowheraki Special Forces

Description
A reconnaissance and sabotage group of the Nowheraki Army SOF.

Conduct thorough recon and then carry out a lighting-fast raid on the target - your friends from the west will join the assault to support and advise.

Features
  • A variety of weapons, from Nowheraki classics to some modern western kit.

  • Explosives with unique effects from thermobaric and incendiary munitions to HEDP and concussion grenades.

  • Custom doctrine tree with the choice of a specialisation depending on your preferred weapons and tactics.

  • Vanilla+ style mod, making use of many assets that were already in the game in an incomplete or inaccessible state.

Classes
  • Commander - An experienced officer, equipped to join his men in both overt and covert ops to lead from the front

  • Assault Sapper - The core of the unit and familiar with a wide variety of weapons. Specialises in using exposives, grenades and rocket launchers to apply heavy firepower

  • Recce - A small reconaissance element, can infiltrate and observe unseen - or offer sniper support for some recon-by fire.

  • Advisor - Foreign SOF operators attached to the squad, they bring western kit and expertise to the fight

  • The signature Nowheraki SF Carbine with a variety of ammunition options, incuding 7.62x39 Subsonic.

  • RShG-2, a RPG-26 derivative with a thermobaric anti-structure warhead.

  • Option to modernize your arsenal with unlocks like the renowned MP-5 and new Bren 2.

  • AUG A3 SF bullpup rifle with the ability to swich between 5.56x45 and .300blk options.

This is a complete rewrite of my original pre-doorkickers 2 full release Nowheraki SF mod.

If only a certain group of weapons is improved they are named in the description.
For example - all rifles, all western or all eastern weapons (soviet/russian/AK) or specific systems are mentioned by name (PK, VSS etc)

You can either gain 1 or 2 doctine points per level up - ending up with 15 (SWAT) or 30 (CIA, Ranger)

30 points would be too much for this unit, you could simply select everything - meanwhile 15 does not give enough options

The easiest soluiton was to raise the level cap to 20 with 1 point per level retaining the need to choose while having meaninguful progression

Loved the idea of a relatively balanced force that fits the game setting well.

Why are we at 15 bodies? For longer campaigns I feel like we need to be at 20 or so.

Idea 1 change Commander to Leadership and make it a pair. Or add a third Foreign adviser but that seems cheating. Then 4 more assault sappers.

More complex idea Grenade launchers and the LMGs off the assault sappers to a new character class x4. But I have zero idea of if that makes sense or works.

Next is splitting assault sappers into two groups. Mostly for ease of use.

I also have questions about the doctrine and which ones effect which weapons. If a weapon is named is it just those weapons?

Why does Doctrine Scale past 16? Base formations are capped at 16. Rescue in FSW is randomly spelt as rescure.

Eastern/Western guns what is the SR-3M?

That having been said I enjoyed my 21 day campaign. The Recce troops and the Commander being able to pick locks was a plus. Also the knowing where the HVT and/or 1 hostage

Mod has been updated to version 2.3 to account for the new vanilla update

The image for the GM94 got removed in the latest game update.

Heads up, the latest update seems to have broken this unit, they can no longer equip frag or flashbang grenades in their pocket slots.

I've loved this mod since it's released on Steam, easily my favorite unit mod.

Will this mod continue to be updated?

I'm loving the mod, definitely has a different feel then the base teams but it's a fun challenge.

One question though, my squad has been stuck about halfway through level 14 and won't gain anymore experience. Would anyone happen to know how to fix that? I've done new missions, even deleted and recreated the team, but no fix.
