Endless Canyon II

Description
Large 160x160 map, completely hand-drawn. Enemies come from the south and follow a long winding canyon to your base in the north.

  • Drop zone secured by a platoon of elite troops (Humans: 2 machinegun teams and commandos + Robot: 4 IFV and a mix of 4 droids).

  • Scans confirm presence of all critical resources nearby to establish a foothold quickly. Expanding outside the starting area for extra resources and advantageous defensive positions will be more demanding.

  • Topography will delay the bulk of the enemy and numerous locations can be used to ambush and soften up the horde waves. We have detected strong enemy concentrations from which attacks can potentially be sent that will require early attention.

  • Recon team reported a few hostile natives and a rogue droid force in the area. Humans and RFI have joined forces with the robots also providing support from orbit.

Resist or push back the enemy attacks for as long as you can.

Hey glorygooers,

After the release of game version 0.2, I updated the map Endless Canyon.

  • Map layout has been changed slightly in several places (also to allow some strategic choices using bridges)
  • Extra starting units have changed to accomodate starts with robots or human captains
  • More fixed enemy groups have been added including the new units to add a bit more challenge
  • Minor changes in resource layout to accomodate for robot faction mechanics

I will be updating the map as new game versions come out and might do multiple versions with different objectives. But before 1.0 is there, I don't wanna put too much effort into designing challenging and balanced waves as the game and maybe the editor might get several new features. So it is mostly vanilla settings and the default endless objective till then.

Also sorry for deleting the other map, I am not familiar yet with how the workshop updates shall be done. I will try keeping it here when next update drops.

Thanks for trying it, hope you enjoy and any feedback is welcome.

@Blood, unfortunately I am not yet able to QA this map. I am hoping to update it when the game goes to final release, then I might try to test and maintain this file a bit better. But in the meantime, this is by no mean a perfect, thoroughly tested, workshop item. Just be aware of that.

@Chevrotain @Rotten Chompers

Quite few ore yes, but it is by design not in the starting vicinty. Instead you have to move about 2-3 screens east, south or west to find large deposits. As said, this is intended to encourage the player to expand in one direction, once you clear the path to the ore, then you'll have more than enough till you get to the next of several ore patches (more than you'll ever need actually) that can be found on the map. Remember, this is the largest map size currently available.

I was handicapped as I couldn't find any ore. Is there any ore on this map?

If you build a wall they won't attack, then you can't save.

Where is the ore?

@zAcEz - I used some crystal decoratively, so this is normal. There are many crystal fields, several of which can yield 6-7-8 crystals per extractor.
@Guy - Glad you enjoyed it. Unfortunately, there is not much I can do, with exceptions on the first few weeks where I added a couple of waves, everything else is default.

As anyone else played till round 250 and experienced similar issues?

The northern crystals are inaccessible to human captains
