Description
Jumbo Tree Scaler Mod - Enhanced Visual Immersion

Support both B41 and B42
(as it's client-side, will works in B41-MP)

In Project Zomboid, tree sprites (even for large 2x tiles) are limited to a maximum resolution of 384x512 pixels. This constraint makes the "Jumbo" trees—intended to be the tallest—appear disproportionately small compared to buildings. Even a single-story house can seem taller than these large trees.

This mod enhances the visual scale of trees without altering their original textures. By scaling the foliage, the game transforms from an environment of sparse, medium-sized trees into dense forests with towering canopies.

Key Features:

* No performance impact: The mod only resizes already loaded textures, avoiding additional memory usage or rendering overhead.

* Increased realism: Forests feel more immersive and natural, with larger trees contributing to a more authentic environment.

* Gameplay challenge: Denser tree coverage significantly reduces visibility, making survival harder—perfect for hardcore players seeking a more intense experience.

This simple yet effective tweak elevates the atmosphere of Project Zomboid while maintaining game balance.

This mod can be enabled/disabled whenever you want, just restart PZ to empty texture cache

love this mod, but makes a lot of lag :(

Gosh, the visuals are GREAT. Love having actually larger scaled trees. The forest feels like a forest! But... visibility into obscured tiles ie; forests on the south / east edges of roads, and the unreliability of the visibility reveal distance when the more distant textures are scaled up, means that it's practically unplayable because you cannot see ANYTHING if there is a large tree 6 tiles away.

Even when you're not driving, this is an issue. That game mechanic to let you see behind obstructions in isometric view is NEEDED to not be attacked by zombies or get completely and absolutely lost.

Sadly, unless there is a way to adjust the tile obstruction reveal distance or whatever the fuck you call it, this is very much unplayable.

The texture is definitely great, but as others said, too abstract when driving or navigating in the forest(intentional?), so a lighter vision will definitely fill the gape.

I love the textures but it makes it so difficult to see when driving I had to turn the mod off hopefully there is a lightweight version soon that keeps the textures but allows more visibility when driving thanks for your work

i'm also having the same problem, a lot of floating tree tops without the trunk and they block the view, unless max zoom in, not only looks weird seeing floating trees, but also i cant even know where i am facing, sadly i will play 10 YL without this one.

The issue @Phil mentioned makes the mod unusable for me.
I hope for a fix as it is a great mod.

Its Recomended that when removed, close and open the game so the textures refresh
HentaiHamster 6 Aug @ 10:11pm
when i removed the mod there were still giant invisible trees everywhere like...shadow like trees on roads and stuff. any ideas?
