About
Hello! This mod uses the Funeral Framework provided by Alpha Memes, but with a different approach.

Key difference:
This mod doesn’t add memes or ideology fluff. It only focuses on the base ideology funeral ritual (a.k.a. the vanilla funeral).

Alpha Memes patches in Bonded and Venerated animals only.

This mod expands on that, while staying standalone. You don’t need Alpha Memes to use it, but the two work fine together.



What’s New?
At the time of writing (Sep 2), I updated the mod settings. Previously, you only had four options:
  • Bonded animals – Recommended
  • Venerated animals – Recommended
  • Named animals – Acceptable, but use with caution
  • All animals – Not recommended

The problem? Enabling All animals didn’t disable the others or give you any feedback. Plus, what if you only want specific animals to have funerals without micromanaging?

That’s where the new system comes in:

Simple Mode:

Selecting All animals disables the other three.

Includes optional filters:
• Animals trainable for combat
• Pen farm animals

Filters are off by default.

Detailed Mode:

Full customization over which animals get funerals.
Filters here don’t affect funerals, but change which animals show up for configuration.
Info icons + a status box provide extra clarity.


Compatibility

Doesn’t affect modded funerals.
May cause letter-text issues if used alongside certain precepts. (Please report any errors, issues, and logs)

Requires: Harmony + Ideology DLC.

Save Compatibility?
No worries! I tested this thoroughly. Old saves won’t break, checks are in place.
As for removing this mod from a save. Eh... Idk, but I wouldn't do it!


FAQ

Q: So should I get Alpha Memes or this mod?
A: Either works. Both can run together.
Alpha Memes: Bonded + Venerated animals.
This mod: Expands options, customization, and modes.

Q: Any recommended mods?
Any mod that adds tamable animals, such as those from Vanilla Animals Expanded and/or Alpha Animals.

Animal Sarcophagus - Best combo with this mod!

Q: CE?
A: ........... bruh

Q: Are you going to continue updating this mod?
A: Not actively, unless it's for minor tweaks or fixes.
My personal life has gotten busy, and I'd like to move on to bigger and better things.

Pushed out an update! All the details are explained on the mod page. However, one thing I didn’t mention is that the mod settings now have language support. So, if anyone is interested, it’s there!

The feature that allows animal funerals? Yes, both mods include this. So, technically, some aspects of this mod are already in Alpha Memes. However, there are some differences.

This mod is standalone and works only with the vanilla funeral precept.

It also includes mod settings that let you customize between the four options I mentioned on the mod page.

By default, the vanilla funeral precept, whether used with Alpha Memes or this mod, accepts bonded and venerated animals. However, with this mod’s settings, you can adjust it to accept fewer or more animals, up to including all colony animals.

You say this is already part of Alpha Memes? I don't see that. If I get Alpha Memes what animals can I do funerals for and/or need to do funerals for? I'm trying to decide if I want all of Alpha Memes or just this.

I've changed the mod thumbnail and such. Which might have switched back your current mod settings back to default. If you changed them from default, please check them. If not, then you'll have nothing to worry about. Continue enjoying the mod!
