Description
Hello all!

I bring you Lexington Avenue!, commissioned by SARG

These eight buildings are part of a block situated on Lexington Avenue, in Bricksburg. The majority of buildings here are based on real structures found from 512 onwards on West Main Street Louisville, Kentucky.
The Art-Deco themed bus depot was suggested by Cartoonist_Key, a few days prior. So I decided to combine both builds together!

The rear of the buildings are not as detailed as I would have liked them to be, but the main focus is on the street-front. And I wanted to keep the brick count lower, which explains the lack of detail regarding the bus depot interior. (In the cover there are buildings connecting onto some of the buildings, so some details were unnecessary.)

Both the interior and exterior lights for the depot are controlled using a switch located on the right-hand side wall by the entrance door.

Enjoy!

Lore:

Lexington Avenue is one of the oldest streets in Bricksville, with one of the first structures being built along it in 1768.
Over the years, many of the early buildings were demolished and replaced. This is best illustrated by the Brickstate Bus Depot building at No. 415. Built in 1931, it stands on the site of the old Bricksburg Book depository. The depository, built in 1871, was a three storey warehouse. It was damaged by a fire in 1924 and subsequently demolished.

In 1929, Greyhound Lines Inc purchased the land and began construction on its first property in Brickstate. This depot allowed both for storage and maintenance of the company's busses, which were used primarily to ferry passengers between Bricksburg and Brickshire.

The building was closed in 1978, due to the decline in inter-city bus usage in Brickstate. It remained abandoned for more than ten years, until the Bricksburg School District Board offered to purchase the property from Greyhound in 1989. It has remained in use ever since, serving as a depot for several of the city's largest schools. Each school is allotted 3 years use of the property before being passed to another school.

One unusual detail you may have noticed is that, although having changed hands more than ten years ago, is that the exterior retains the original Greyhound signage. This is due to the fact the building is a listed historical building, which means no major decorative changes can be made.

Thanks. The bus depot is credited to you actually, since you suggested it the other day.

A Burnout bus would be neat.

Makes me want to make an 80's American bus, lol Actually, maybe the one from Burnout.
